The caption on this is perfect. “A leader is not measured by the size of their flock, but by the commitment to its growth.” “Leader” may be a noun and a title. But true leadership is a verb! If a leader is not empowering their flock, what are they doing? If a flock (team) is not expanding their horizons, working together to support each other, and making sure no one gets stuck trying to jump up onto the curb (those duckling legs need a boost sometimes!) they are not a team; they are not a flock. It is imperative that a leader nurtures each individual. Sometimes, that is empowering them and giving them the tools they need to succeed. Sometimes, that is encouraging them and ensuring they are aware of their value and worth. Sometimes, that is celebrating their successes, no matter how small, so they know their achievements are seen, appreciated, and valued, inspiring them to do more!
