Put patients over profits! The #340B Drug Pricing Program is critical because it allows qualifying hospitals and clinics to purchase some drugs at a discount. This program is designed to help safety-net healthcare providers stretch their resources to support more financially vulnerable patients, contributing to #health #equity and the sustainability of #essentialhospitals.
This morning our CEO, Bruce Siegel, had the opportunity to join a robust discussion about #340B at the National Medical Association's Colloquium on African American Health. Joined by 340B Health, the Alliance to Save America's 340B Program, the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC), Scripps Health, and PhRMA, he explained how vital the program is to #EssentialHospitals and the communities they serve - but also how it supports Graduate Medical Education, #HealthEquity, and much more.

What a great approach to sustainable care which will undoubtedly enhance healthcare access by integrating efficient, eco-friendly practices and technologies, reducing costs, and improving care delivery. This approach should ensure long-term health system viability, making quality care more accessible. We witnessed this in metro Atlanta several years back with similar merger’s.
We are excited to announce that the University of Alabama System Board of Trustees approved an agreement for the UAB Health System Authority to assume ownership of Ascension St. Vincent’s Health System’s care sites in Alabama. This is an exciting opportunity to combine and optimize our collective strengths. Together we will sustain patients’ access to the highest quality care and give them access to a larger network at a time when other hospitals are closing. For more information, visit uabstv.org.
