At Lucid, we work closely with oncology every day, witnessing firsthand the impact of research and funding on cancer diagnosis and treatment. In May, Team Ignite participated in Cancer Research UK’s ‘Walk 100 Miles Challenge.’ Through walking meetings, weekend walks, and lunchtime park visits, they collectively walked 560 miles and raised over £500 for Cancer Research UK's early diagnosis and intervention research. Congratulations, Team Ignite! “My family has faced cancer more than once, and everyone I know has someone in their life currently battling it. This challenge united us, allowed us to share our experiences, and enjoy some sunshine away from our desks!” - Alex-Paige Bishop #lucidspirit

Dr. Benjamin Stanton at The Research Institute at Nationwide and his team have published the first comprehensive 3D analysis of the #rhabdomyosarcoma genome. This 3D analysis helped them find factors that control how the cancer grows and how certain genes work together. This breakthrough could lead to better treatments for this challenging #cancer. The 2023 grant for this research is supported by Berry Strong, a St. Baldrick’s Hero Fund honoring Caroline, who bravely fought rhabdomyosarcoma and raised awareness for childhood cancer #research.
