Here’s Everything That’s Gone Wrong With the Cybertruck Since It Released When Elon Musk launched the Tesla Cybertruck, a brutalist stainless steel monstrosity doubling as an electric pickup truck, there were plenty of signs that things were not, um, going well. First and foremost were its ridiculous looks, but then came the claims that this truck would be a bulletproof off-roading legend designed for the end times — claims that were quickly debunked when lead designer Franz Von Holzhausen hurled a steel ball at the window and shattered it. Perhaps that should have been our cue to relegate this low-poly truck to the realm of “concept” and not “reality.” Despite that absurdist debut, the Tesla Cybertruck has somehow managed to not only make it into production, but to also make it into the hands of buyers hungry to praise Musk’s latest brainchild. To no one’s surprise, plenty of screw-ups have followed. Today, we’re going to run through all of Tesla’s Cybertruck tomfoolery since the truck finally started hitting the driveways of keen buyers on November 30, 2023. The current changes in the automotive industry is more far reaching than Henry Ford and his production system. All in the light of electrification and Mega/Giga casting.

The adoption of Gigapresses by Tesla represents a significant innovation in the manufacturing process of their vehicles. Gigapresses are massive casting machines that allow for the production of large parts of a car's body in a single piece, rather than assembling them from multiple smaller parts. This technology streamlines the manufacturing process by reducing the number of components and assembly steps required, thereby increasing efficiency and lowering production costs. One of the primary benefits of Gigapresses for Tesla is the simplification of the unboxing process. Traditional manufacturing methods often involve assembling numerous individual parts, which can be time-consuming and labor-intensive. With Gigapresses, Tesla can produce larger components, such as chassis or structural elements, in a single piece. This reduces the need for manual labor and assembly time, leading to faster production cycles and increased throughput. Additionally, Gigapresses enable Tesla to achieve greater precision and consistency in the manufacturing process. By casting parts in a single piece, the risk of defects or inconsistencies resulting from assembly errors is significantly reduced. This results in higher quality products and a more reliable manufacturing process overall. Overall, the adoption of Gigapresses by Tesla revolutionizes the unboxing process in vehicle manufacturing by simplifying assembly, reducing labor requirements, and improving product quality and consistency. This innovation plays a crucial role in Tesla's efforts to scale production and meet growing demand for their electric vehicles. #Tesla #TeslaMotors #Vehicle #Manufacturing #EV #ElectricalVehicle #Innovation #Gigapress #CostReduction #ProcessAutomation #Optimization #Efficiency #Industry #Engineering

Simplicity at the service of speed, the Formula tear-off solution 🏎️ In the fast-paced world of Formula racing, innovation is essential, Yet sometimes the most effective solutions are surprisingly simple. Take the example of the visor on the driver's helmet, an essential element in maintaining clear vision on the track. While one might expect a sophisticated, high-tech solution, the reality is refreshingly simple: tear-offs. Tear-offs are thin, transparent layers applied to the visor. Acting like miniature shields, they protect drivers from debris, insects and dirt. In one swift movement, drivers can peel off the outer layer when it accumulates dirt, instantly restoring perfect visibility. In a field often defined by cutting-edge technology, the humble tear-off system is a testament to the power of simplicity and efficiency. A Tesla engineer was attacked by a robot during a brutal and bloody malfunction at the company's Giga Texas factory near Austin. Two witnesses watched in horror as their fellow employee was attacked by the machine designed to grab and move freshly cast aluminum car parts. The robot had pinned the man, who was then programming software for two disabled Tesla robots nearby, before sinking its metal claws into the worker's back and arm, leaving a 'trail of blood' along the factory surface. The incident - which left the victim with an 'open wound' on his left hand - was revealed in a 2021 injury report filed to Travis county and federal regulators, which has been reviewed by DailyMail.com. While no other robot-related injures were reported to regulators by Tesla at the Texas factory in either 2021 or 2022, the incident comes amid years of heightened concerns over the risks of automated robots in the workplace. Reports of increased injuries due to robotic coworkers at Amazon shipment centers, killer droid-surgeons, self-driving cars, and even violence from robotic chess instructors, have led some to question speedy integration of the new tech. The injury report, which Tesla must submit to authorities by law to maintain its lucrative tax breaks in Texas, claimed the engineer did not require time off of work. But one attorney who represents Tesla's Giga Texas contract workers has told DailyMail.com she believes, based on her conversations with workers there, that the number of injuries suffered at the factory is going underreported. This underreporting, the attorney said, even included the September 28, 2021 death of a construction worker, who had been contracted to help build the factory itself. 'My advice would be to read that report with a grain of salt,' the attorney, Hannah Alexander of the nonprofit Workers Defense Project, told DailyMail.com. 'We've had multiple workers who were injured,' Alexander said, 'and one worker who died, whose injuries or death are not in these reports that Tesla is supposed to be accurately completing and submitting to the county in order to get tax incentives.' #tesla #robots #automation #malfunction #assemblyline
