Last Night we celebrated the launch of Barbie®: The Exhibition at the the Design Museum. The event was a spectacular celebration of Barbie’s 65-year design journey of innovation, with a vibrant crowd experiencing over 180 remarkable dolls, including a rare first edition Barbie from 1959. The exhibition which will run until February 2025, highlights Barbie’s significant influence on design, fashion, culture and will present exclusive, behind-the-scenes insights into Mattel’s design processes. With special thanks to the team at the Design Museum, Tim Marlow, Josephine Chanter, curator Danielle Thom, and of course our Mattel teams led by Kim Culmone, Julie Freeland, Frederica Peters (née Swallow), Liz Maglione, and all those on the ground at Mattel EMEA. I attended this exhibition last week. It was fascinating to learn the history of the most famous toy doll! The vintage TV adverts were brilliant!
