Sustainability and technology go hand-in-hand! Recently, our Group Sustainability Manager, Louise Ol-Ers, participated in an exciting panel discussion about the role of AI development in society and the possibilities technology makes to facilitate and streamline companies' sustainability work. Among other things, issues such as: How can AI contribute to the transition to a more sustainable future? How can companies use AI in their sustainability work? How sustainable is AI itself? Our partner, Forever Sustainable, held the event, aiming to accelerate sustainability development by bringing together the forces in the business world. Together with Fellowmind in the spotlight, there were representatives from, among others, Sweden's largest technical university KTH, major Swedish banks, and other strong players in digitization. "We are grateful to participate in these important conversations and contribute what we can for an accelerated and smooth path to the green transition! What we are experiencing now is only the beginning of the possibilities with AI. But development is happening at a breakneck speed, and together with Microsoft, we see great potential in the new technology. Soon, we hope to be able to further develop services that speed up and facilitate, for example, companies' sustainability reporting under the new EU directive CSRD [Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive]. Our solutions already today reduce the manual work of compiling data and delivering comprehensive reports; with AI, it will be even more possible to automate and more extensive analysis to be done faster. Great way to start the week with Adam Stammers, Ben Flux, who hosted a sustainability session for the Starcom team! It was a pleasure to talk about the work Scope3 does to enable digital decarbonisation and to participate in this panel with Sebastian Munden. My key takeaways from our discussion: 1. The either/or mindset is stopping the industry from approaching sustainability as a way to create business value. However, doing the right thing drives better business results as a means to build efficiencies. 2. Carbon measurement is another tool helping brands and agencies reduce media waste, contributing to better campaigns that reach their media objectives. 3. AI's sustainability impact is already a concern, making it even more crucial to establish best practices now that will help make better decisions with the emergence of new tech.
