great question...I tend to be more of a funnel than an umbrella for few reasons.

1moI'm more of a heat shield. Hide too much from your team and they lack the awareness of the context of what's going on outside...let in too much and it's a distraction and frustrating. Let in just enough to motivate and provide context to clarify direction and filter out anything that is pure noise.
