Do you know who was in the room before you? This research highlights the significant role hospital environments play in the transmission of infections like Clostridioides difficile (CDI). Analyzing 1,770 patients in the medical ICU, it was found that those in rooms previously occupied by CDI-positive patients faced a higher incidence of CDI at 11.0%, compared to 4.6% for those in rooms with a CDI-negative prior occupant 📊🔬. Incorporating UV-C disinfection could greatly mitigate these risks, creating safer environments and helping prevent the spread of infections among the most vulnerable hospital patients 🌟🚫🦠. https://lnkd.in/d8EdYFHw #SafetyFirst #hospitaldisinfection #healthcaresafety #operatingroom #isolationroom #deliveryroom #infectionpreventionandcontrol #healthcare #antimicrobialresistance
