“It’s so exciting to see the team’s hard work recognized by this year’s FCS judges,” said Macaela VanderMost, founder and executive creative director at Newfangled Studios. “With over 600 entries submitted, it’s great to earn these honors, but what’s even more satisfying for us was the close collaboration and trust we developed with our client partners throughout these projects.” ✨ 🏆

You can't do the same things and expect different results.
If you want to innovate, not just iterate, you must find new approaches.
Seinfeld would never have worked if it were in the hands of traditional sitcom producers. It was championed by someone who produced one-off specials.
Warby Parker came about when its founders decided to sell eyeglasses from an online-first approach.
Disneyland was born because Walt Disney wanted to make movie theaters have a more "4-D" experience, and theater owners said no.
If you want to innovate, get out of your current context and try things from unorthodox angles.
Journey to the land of Elsewhere. A place you may have never been, have never thought of going, a place you may not even know exists. Yet it's a wonder space of new ideas.
One of my favorite ways to get to Elsewhere is the Bad Idea Brainstorm. Try it with a group and see what new ideas emerge. Then try one of those ideas.

Great work from Cary E. Dawes / Claire Rendell (FCIPD) / Tim Clover and all the crew from the Rayner PCHQ team... talking passionately about the vital importance of visibility, recognition and reward - and then delivering a superb Awards announcement to the company around the globe.
OurSecretLab are exceptionally proud to be collaborating with the Presidents Club HQ (PCHQ) incentive team at Rayner.
Just recently, together with our long-time film production partners Sonder Design Ltd, we collaborated to create a set-up that felt like it was appropriate for this great celebration, even when delivered to a global audience remotely.
Indeed, how you deliver on the myriad of components of any incentive program, especially a comprehensive one that rewards both the sales functions, and other global non-sales functions, is as important as the main trip itself.
How you do anything, is how you do everything...
As a company, you have asked for the very best possible, in the reality that you have. Looking to inspire, and help support, excellence as standard... in all aspects of how you go about your business.
So it seems completely reasonable, that the company should get behind that workflow when it comes to the reward portion of that deal. And that's where we have been from the start.
Our senior client team at Rayner have always indicated like the Mandalorian's they are, that - this is the way - they want the program to run... incentivising the truly unstoppable, with the truly unforgettable - taking the time and effort to ensure that every aspect of the program feels like it's a mirror of the efforts it took to win a spot in the first place.
Truly exceptional output, rewarded with similarly meaningful and positive input. Equal parts inclusive, and exclusive.
Equitable rewarding, if you will.
So, so good.
Let's go...

🤔 How are you helping to untangle the maze?
Everyone is creative, but not everyone can break into a creative career. How can we ensure diverse perspectives can enter the industry so our work can thrive?
Our Provocation Manager Lizzy Cooney spoke to shots about some of the blockers young people face when starting their creative careers. She argues agencies should actively promote opportunities, allow experimentation and failure, shift mindsets from tick-boxing to a genuine appreciation of diversity, and take risks where possible on unlikely candidates. Ultimately, agencies should view diversity as a strength worth fighting for.

Kellie Kawaguchi is not human.
Wait, hold on.
Let me explain.
That's the single best explanation I've come up with so far as to why her class, CNTV 525, is the best class I've ever taken at the University of Southern California.
Kellie is a Film Campaign Manager at Netflix, previously Director of International Marketing at Universal Pictures, before that was at places like Sony Pictures Entertainment, WME | William Morris Endeavor, I mean we'd be here all day if I kept going on...
Name a CEO or leader at a major agency, and she's had them as guest speakers. Name a CMO or SVP at any major studio, from Warner Bros. Entertainment to Paramount Pictures and she's had them too.
And the best part is, despite the embarrassment of riches with the guest speakers, the single most engaging part of the class is just when she talks to everyone.
You'd have to be more than human, or have quite a few clones of yourself, to be this is effective at this level. But that's just a theory.
Her pure, unfiltered passion comes through in every second of the class and I can't really put into words how much her sincere enthusiasm and joy lights up the whole class even at the end of what has usually been a very, very long Tuesday for everyone.
Honestly, the priceless learnings and insights from this class could almost be a side effect. Today, with the world being more jaded, hopeless, and miserable than ever, what all of us in this class really needed and are so happy we got is someone that reminds us why we do all this and go through all this in the first place:
fun.

I recently came across a post discussing Pitchfork's merger with GQ, where the author claimed it ''it's the end of the Niche/Hipster Era''. I disagree. In my view, we're actually diving deeper into a world of niches. The issue for Pitchfork and similar 'tastemaker' media isn't the niche itself but that these niches are growing (due to streaming, social etc..). They're on the hunt for ultra-niche artists, but being a niche within a niche often means a smaller fanbase, which doesn't generate much web traffic.
With so much music and so many new artists out there, it's not practical (from a business standpoint) to focus solely on these super niche artists. However, they could spotlight emerging artists who are crafting incredible stories and communities, selling out shows that maybe only 0.5% of people will ever hear about.
We're back with another exciting commercial. 📽️
Introducing Agency Therapy, our latest creation debuting this summer across various channels in the Chicago Area. A huge shoutout to JV Studios for their great work once again.
