I took the opportunity to read through Nike’s FY23 Impact Report and while reflecting on the achievements outlined, it's clear that Nike's is recommitting itself to diversity, equity, and inclusion. As a former leader on the DEI team, it’s heartening to see the tangible progress that we’ve made on these ambitious DEI goals. Nike is leading the way, especially in the representation of women and U.S. racial and ethnic minorities in their workforce. Remarkably, they've reached 41% representation of U.S. racial and ethnic minorities in their corporate workforce, surpassing their own 2025 target. This milestone, along with maintaining 51% representation of women in their global corporate workforce, underscores Nike's role as a beacon of progress. One standout initiative driving these improvements is the Serena Williams Design Crew (SWDC), a half-year fellowship that nurtures emerging designers from diverse backgrounds, including those who identify as women and Black, Indigenous, or people of color. This program is a prime example of how targeted efforts can create pathways for underrepresented talents in the design industry, leading to a more diverse and inclusive workplace. I am immensely proud of our collective achievements and grateful to my former colleagues, like James Loduca and Monique Matheson, for continuing to carry the torch of progress. Your dedication is a beacon of hope and inspiration, proving what can be achieved with commitment and teamwork. Nike's success is a call to action for other companies to follow suit, demonstrating that with commitment, innovation, and the right programs, achieving ambitious DEI goals is not just possible but impactful. Let's celebrate Nike's achievements and continue pushing for a more inclusive world, both within and beyond corporate walls.

Innovative and impactful storytelling:  The London campaign likely includes powerful stories and visuals that captivate viewers and leave a strong impression.    6. Catchy tagline:  Nike's slogan for this campaign "Find your greatness", clearly conveys the campaign's message of encouraging individuals to discover their potential and excellence.

🤝 One Team, One Dream: Lessons from Dove & Nike's Inspiring Partnership In the realm of digital marketing, staying ahead means constantly evolving, and the Dove-Nike partnership exemplifies this journey brilliantly. The recently launched “Building Body Confidence in Sports” marks a significant step in this direction, aiming to empower young girls through sports. 🏃♀️💪 Dove and Nike, two powerhouses in their respective fields, have united to create a groundbreaking initiative. This program is a beacon of hope, providing 11 to 17-year-old girls with vital coaching tools to nurture body confidence. 🌈 This collaboration is more than just a business move, it’s a commitment to social change. Dove has been a forerunner in self-esteem education, reaching over 60 million young people. Nine major U.S. cities. Seventy-eight youth organizations. Two partners who share a common vision: create a space for all girls who ball to find joy in play, and feel seen, empowered and connected to a community — on and off the basketball court. Beginning in 2021, Nike partnered with DICK'S Sporting Goods (DSG) to create “It’s Her Shot,” an experience that hosts hundreds of young girls for games, clinics and programs. The beauty of this partnership, says Mindy Helmer, is in the shared values. The Nike Director of Partner Marketing helps lead conversations between Nike and DSG on how sport can, and should, leave a positive impact on everyone, especially girls. “One of the special parts about working at Nike is getting to work across so many different groups to do a project,” says Helmer, who’s been in the job for nearly three years. “From Social & Community Impact to Communications to Sports Marketing, everyone involved in the program is just as passionate as I am about giving these girls an incredible experience and a newfound community through sport. This project has been a culmination of everything I’ve believed in during my 13-year Nike career about helping young girls find a sense of belonging.” And it's not the only example. A lot changed when I came #backtowork from #maternityleave, and so did Asian & Friends Community at Nike EMEA. We are a Network now… stronger, bigger and more impactful. As I take on the role to lead Growth and Insights Pillar for #Asians Network at Nike EMEA, here is what I shared with my Co-chairs as to why I can be the one for this 2 years being a part of this community I have closely seen it transform from a small group to now a close to 500 member family. But we have a long way to go towards to journey of being unabashedly #inclusive, extremely welcoming and amazingly #safespace for our members. And this is how I will Support our core team drive initiatives to achieve the same. I recently read Simon Sinek Start with why, would like to use his #GoldenCircle Philosophy in determining our plan for the fiscal year WHY this role – Aligning with our core purpose as a team. Driving a #culture of belonging by ensuring #representation and a voice around relevant social and community issues. HOW will I act – Making informed decisions, bringing in initiatives with the sole purpose of ensuring #community members feel heard and involved WHAT will I do – * Existing Initiatives (listed all the relevant ones) * New Initiatives (suggestions of some new ones)   This is my new #template of thinking, goal setting, projects , basically everything. I have found that this has really brought me closer to creating an impact.

So, after much campaigning, Nike finally gave football fans what they wanted. The opportunity to wear the kit of Mary Earps, one of the greatest goalkeepers in the 🌎. Mary nearly quit football; she never thought that she would be the No. 1 pick for England. She was done. Then, in 2021, Sarina Wiegman took over as England's manager, and everything (most notably her self-belief) changed. The Nike statement (link in comments) was a bit mid and lacked passion; they missed the opportunity to go big on women's football, the achievement of the Lionesses and the exclusive opportunity to secure one of X jerseys. There is no release date, and Nike strangely referenced that they have 'secured' the jerseys in a way that suggests Nike are some random third party outside of the entire process – odd! Nike is the most active sponsor brand in sports, followed by Adidas. The company has more than 170 active sponsorship deals across 14 sports globally, and with that power comes responsibility. Brands, particularly sports brands, have a massive impact on society. Many of us are in love with the Nike brand, and when they fall short; we question our relationship with the brand and the money we spend with Nike (please don't ask me, I'm in crep rehab 😂). Nike has a commitment to progress women and girls, so I would love to see them closer aligned to this goal in the future. One of many learning moments for this global brand in 2023. To wear the name of a sportsperson on your back is the ultimate mark of respect and fandom. It's how we maintain and showcase our relationships with athletes and the brands that recognise them. I’m excited to share our FY23 NIKE, Inc. Impact Report. At Nike, we believe in the power of sport and the incredible community it creates. It’s through this community that we’re able to be part of building a better world — one that’s more inclusive, equitable, diverse and sustainable. And, with its release, we’re proud to share the progress we’re making toward that goal — in supporting our People, our Planet and the next generation of sport and Play.   Here are a few Social & Community Impact highlights from FY23: ·         We directly helped over 1.1 million kids around the world get moving — 48% of whom were girls — through our community partners’ diverse offering of play and sport programs. ·         We expanded coaching access for women and continued to share our coaching strategies and tools, reaching more than 142,000 coaches and training more than 14,000 of them through in-person and virtual sport coach training, with an emphasis on strategies to get and keep girls active. ·         Through our Inclusive Community investment portfolios, which includes our Black Community Commitment, NIKE, Inc. directed $40.8 million to organizations that are committed to advancing equality for underserved communities across the globe. ·         We also expanded our commitment to girls by partnering with Dove, the world’s biggest provider of self-esteem and body confidence education, to create Body Confident Sport.   Thank You to everyone who contributed to our progress.
