Did you know that one of the most common workplace injuries comes from lifting? Whether you're in construction or the auto industry, lifting heavy items can be an everyday task. Proper lifting techniques are crucial to avoid serious injuries. Here are some tips to keep you safe: 1. Keep the load close to your body. 2. Avoid twisting; move your whole body instead. 3. Use your legs, not your back, to lift. 4. Grab the load with a solid two-handed grip. 5. Lift and lower smoothly. And remember, whenever possible, get materials delivered close to where you need them. Stay safe out there! 💪 #NationalSafetyMonth #WorkSafety #LiftingTips #RRMinsurance

Three photos. Three areas that caused serious injuries. Each of these #manufacturing facilities was piecing together mats that were too small to cover their workspaces. Either buying a bunch of runners that didn't fit, or hand-cutting pieces of mat from a large roll mat. The approach left gaps between each mat (trip hazard), mats without beveled edges (trip hazard), and 'out on an island' mats constantly sliding around (slip hazard). The left photo, a rolled ankle. The middle photo, a broken wrist. The right photo, someone tripped and hit machinery. According to the International Labour Organization: "Slips, trips, and falls are among the most common of all workplace injuries, but they're also the easiest to prevent." If you're looking for an easy and immediate way to reduce slip, trip and fall risks in your facility, STOP piecing mats together. You're better off with no mats at all. If you need traction and cushion without the risk, custom-designed anti-fatigue mats are a safe alternative. See how these AcroMat clients responded to injuries in the comments.👇 #workplacesafety #slipandfall #employeehealth
