There is so much coming out now that shows the flaws in various open source conventions. Maybe Dotan Horovits is right; the only safe way to express open source is via a foundation. However, I still believe that a solid and reliable, transparent governance model can protect our interests, coupled with the will of the community

Especially in Europe´s Public Sector the topic of Digital Sovereignty is becoming more and more important. OpenELA is definitely supporting here.
SUSE is a strong believer in making choice happen. We have joined forces with Oracle and CIQ to ensure that the freedom to access, modify, and distribute software remains open to all. Tune in to hear SUSE's Alan Clark discuss OpenELA on IEEE Spectrum. As Alan notes in the conversation, OpenELA will ensure a stable and resilient future for communities to leverage Enterprise Linux. It protects the freedom of access and shared success that have been the building blocks of the open source community. Earlier this month, OpenELA marked a major milestone, releasing the source code for all packages necessary for anyone to build a derivative Enterprise Linux operating system. The initial focus is on RHEL versions EL8 and EL9, and packages for EL7 are forthcoming. Truly thrilled to see the enthusiasm and collaboration propelling OpenELA forward: https://okt.to/lOjStw
