Our hearts are with those affected by this morning’s tornado and severe weather. Red Cross is working with our local partners to monitor conditions and support requests from emergency management. If severe weather remains in your area, know the difference between a watch and a warning. It’s important that you’re prepared to act quickly and move to a safe location in the event of a tornado warning. After a tornado, it’s important to let first responders work to clear the affected areas. Remember to stay safe and listen to local authorities. ⚡️Watch out for downed power lines. 🩹 Check yourself and others for injuries. Help others if you’re trained in CPR and First Aid. 🏠 ONLY return home if and when it is safe to do so. ☎️ If you were affected by the tornado and need help, please call 1-800-RED-CROSS. We’re here for you.

MARC Training- The Florida MARC system is shown at the basic operators course at the Florida State Fire College. The entry level course prepares assigned operators to deploy and utilize Florida’s 8 MARC units assigned in the various regions and prepares them for more advanced roles such as COML and COMT training. MARC Units (Mutual Aid Radio Communications) often serve as search and rescue communications resources and as part of ESF2 Strike teams. MARC carries interoperability channels, radios, and associated support equipment each with a 100ft tower. Units are mobilized annually across Florida often during wildfires, planned events, and hurricanes. #hurricaneseason #interoperability
