Attention technicians in the mechanical trades (i.e., electrical, HVAC, etc.). Greater Houston Partnership’s UpSkill Houston, in partnership with the Burning Glass Institute (BGI), is hosting a virtual feedback session to help us understand the career pathways and progressions for technicians and manufacturing. We would like to invite individuals who have strong knowledge of the roles and skills with respect to technicians and manufacturing to a virtual session (about 45 minutes) that will take place via Zoom on January 9, at 11:00 a.m. CT. Using a data-driven approach to understand demand and supply, this session will assist BGI in refining its labor market modeling and analysis for the Houston region. The BGI and UpSkill Houston teams are working to identify and understand talent pools that are ripe for transition into good manufacturing and technician occupations – this includes exploring occupations with similar skills and occupations that have the most observed transitions into those roles.
