No VP wants to pay an email marketer $120k. So here's what happens. 👇 The VP hires someone early in their career (<3 years). High potential. Awesome people. But they have to learn the platform AND more about email. Not to mention a new business. Things are a little slow. They don't know what to look for, or what to avoid looking at. But they grow. They get better. And their roles expand outside of email... into operations, content, etc. Email gets a little ignored. They get promoted, grow outside their pay band, or move on... And you're back to hiring a high-potential candidate again. --- This approach is TOTALLY fine. But causes issues IF: 1. You can't justify a whole hire for email marketing. 2. You want to move fast. 3. You need an experienced eye to identify which email programs should be prioritized. This is why fractional email marketing is such a good fit. It's flexible (month to month), it taps into 10+ years of experience, there's little training, and you see impact quickly. From a hiring perspective, it's a low-risk, high-reward move IMO.
