Often times I am asked what else do I do outside of work? What is Ad 2? What have you learned/gained from it? Why do you do it? And every time I will have the same two answers: 1. There isn’t enough representation of people, specifically women, who look like me in this industry. Women who are unapologetically “assertive”, “strong”, and “vocal”. Often times I get worried these things will hold me back in my career but through Ad 2 I’ve found a way to keep my voice and remain myself. I will never not be authentic. 2. I want to pave a path for others. To help them learn, to share knowledge, to connect people. I want to help be a part of someone future the same way others were part of mine. Ad 2 has helped me understand who I am and now being the chair of our national executive board - I can’t wait to put myself aside and help pave a path for others to get the things they need to show up as the most authentic version of themselves and to feel empowered to reach their goals.

Nothing ignites joy like working alongside these incredible leaders and helping them communicate, tell stories, and gain clarity in their thought leadership. One of the most rewarding experiences that exist in the universe is the ability to see the impact of what we do. Working with the second cohort of the senior women’s leadership identity development program - “Unleash” for Walmart - has been truly inspiring for us. The journey of many months hopefully gave our participants many takeaways. But it gave us many rich insights as well. 1) Most of our unique life challenges essentially map to a universal set of human dilemmas. 2) Being vulnerable together builds unbreakable connections 3) Becoming a leader means we have to push ourselves and test our edges and boundaries.
