I can definitely see why Comcast is rated in the top 10 companies to work for. After coming from law-enforcement, and having worked at other places in my lifetime, I have never worked for a company that cares so much about its employees and the community we serve. Comcast ranks at the top of the list for places to work for veterans. And I could see why on that also. #IWorkForComcast

What a joy it was guest speak at New York University Tisch School of the Arts. Thank you Andrew Goldman. I want these students to go out into the industry absolutely #FEARLESS too. Creativity and innovation won't be able to thrive if they don't. It's up to ALL of us to put a stop to the pervasive "culture of fear" currently plaguing the entertainment business. But mostly it was just fun to talk strategy and development to the next generation of tv and film leaders including... ➡ Inside "secrets" of content planning from Barbie to true crime and callouts around how this is all rapidly changing in a multiplatform world ➡ 10,000 easy steps to getting your show approved by finance (hint: strong relationships and fighting for what matters!) ➡ The one that got away (Making a Murderer)... there is a longer story here about why this was actually okay. Ask me offline. ➡ My first paid gig which was script conforming for early seasons of American Chopper (which shockingly was unknown by the room )... Big picture, you're going to have to move around early and often to find your place in the industry. ➡ What you learn in the classroom versus on the job...which was a little awkward to say in the classroom lol. ➡ Why students should be on LinkedIn now. Wouldn't have met Andy without it myself! ➡ My favorite show of all time - Six Feet Under (which again, there was not a lot of familiarity in the room #homework). Full of regret for not mentioning Schitt's Creek! My "office hours" will continue to be open to students and young professionals who want to talk shop. I've benefitted from having strong #mentors throughout all stages of my career, and the best part is the relationship always goes both ways. #learnsomethingnew #curiosity
