In re reading a book called legacy based on my much loved All Blacks (regarded even now as the most successful sports team in history) the mentality of every player being a leader on the ground, the sense of responsibility that we all have a job to do and that together we can achieve great things. . I love this in a practical sense that in our business each agent runs there own business, but collectively share the values of the team, in years gone by this was being in business for yourself but not by yourself! . #redbullracing still struggles with Barbarians at the Gate. In the last couple of days with over the top Amplify and asking for H's Team Principal position (Creator of today's most successful team) in exchange of keeping a personal assistant. A few answers should be added to that list: 1.- Who is more valuable to #redbullracing long term success? H or M. 2.- #gomax is looking for a seat at Mercedes and ... is he offering technical resources and #redbull intellectual property alongside? 3.- Is #LibertyMedia ok that a driver can damage the F1, the #f1 brand, the team, The Team Principal and the team's technical viability just to avoid breach of contract penalties? I don't know Rick, looks like... they are not just looking for money. 🤔🤔🤔

The "work family" notion is appealing - who wouldn't want that level of tight bondedness with coworkers? But let's get real. You don't pay family for their contributions or sever ties when business takes a downturn. What we have at work is colleagues, friends hopefully, but at the core, a high-performing team. One that pushes each other to excel, achieve shared goals, and ultimately do amazing work. Reed Hastings of Netflix once ruptured the family fantasy by frankly stating it's about being a stellar team, not an affectionate family. That raw honesty can feel harsh, but it's liberating. You needn't be cruel, but candidly admit you're there to do great work together, not provide unconditional kinship. Avoid the family daydreams; it distorts relationships and leaves you unprepared for organizational change. With clarity and maturity, we can build workplace bonds based on mutual trust, respect and performance, not familial fantasies. Set aside the notion of being family, and focus on forging an empowered, achievement-driven team. That team mindset breeds accountability, excellence and resilience in the face of uncertainty. And those qualities ultimately enable us to thrive and make an impact together. #culture #teamwork
