In an interesting study just released, Deutsche Bank has reproduced many interesting graphs on the "Mag 7", including this, the concentration of the top 5 weighting in the S&P 500 over the last 60 years. There is, therefore, a non-negligible "concentration risk". On the other hand, as we commented recently, the companies in question are the most profitable, with margins twice the average of the S&P 500, and with the best balance sheets, in this case with a positive net financial position. It is no coincidence that after yesterday's CPI, these companies withstood the impact of higher rates well. LSEG (London Stock Exchange Group) once again led their capital markets results with Tradeweb’s successes in H1 2024. Total revenue of £880 million, up 13.4% year-on-year (YoY), was “primarily driven by fixed income, derivatives and other”, its report stated. Global capital markets enjoy strong first quarter

Did you know: buying or selling securities like stocks usually take two days to settle, or the transfer of the security to the buyer and money to the security? Well, not for much longer! Starting this Tuesday, May 28th, a new rule by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission called 'T+1' will take affect, meaning that securities will need to be settled in one day.
