Helping small/medium business owners in the field service industry reach their full potential through field service management software.
Yesterday marked my 2 year work-iversary at Workwave. Crazy how fast things go! It lines up perfectly with the new year, which for sales people, most of the time is a fresh start to reflect and make changes. As the new year starts, it is easy to reflect on how you did, what you did wrong, and what could be done better. It is difficult to find the things you did well, even harder to find the things you did great. As sales people, we are extra critical of ourselves on this front. My goals were simple: Make more efficient calls. ✅ Sit more Demos on a weekly basis ✅ Be consistent at achieving 100% of my sales quota on a monthly basis ✅✅✅ Help atleast one teammate find the same success✅ Reflecting back, I was able to happily check these off as the year concluded! Ending the year at 139% of my quota, and qualifying/making President’s Club! Gotta say that’s a great way to celebrate 2 years and a start to my 3rd! it’s been an awesome two years full of growth and excited for what’s in store for this year! #SellMorein24’

Over the past couple of months I've been partnering with Blinq and hiring for their (brand new!) US team. I'm so thrilled to have contributed to this very exciting new chapter as they onboard their first ever US employees! 🥳 If the truth be known, this was my first time hiring in the US market. There have been a lot of learnings for me along the way and... it's been a lot of fun! I've loved the early morning Zoom calls with candidates and meeting with vibrant, talented individuals who have been beyond excited about an Aussie Start Up's journey! A few of my key takeaways on recruiting in the US have been: - Map out the process early. This should always be a priority when kicking off with a new role, but it's especially important for a brand new recruitment process! This is a clean slate and a chance to make the process perfect for a positive candidate experience with minimal delays - With the right advert, you will receive a LOT of applications in the US! - If you think we've had a lot of tech layoffs in Australia lately, wait til you're interviewing candidates in NYC - If your candidate fits the brief, you need to move FAST! Some of my candidates were doing 3 rounds of interviews with the same company in one day in the US market(!) - Be really clear on what you're looking for, and check in with your Hiring Managers to see if anything has changed. Those you hire into a brand new team are key to the team's future success! We want to get it right, so stay close to those leaders to ensure that alignment is there right throughout the process While we might be wrapping up with US hiring (for now), we are still very much full steam ahead hiring in Australia! So, don't hesitate! Join the Blinq journey! 🚀 Check out our vacancies here and apply directly:

Here's how the hiring market is today: 👉🏽 There are more people applying to jobs and less recruiters to go through all of them. 👉🏽 HR/Talent teams think they can do it all internally without any outside help (or they don't have the budget for it) 👉🏽 Some companies see 1000s of applicants for their roles, but because teams are so busy, they won't even look at a tenth of them. 👉🏽 Because of lack of time and lack of budget, companies mostly focus on referral networks.... Yea, let's talk about diversity in hiring again. I'm going to keep it real: The hiring market is the worst it's ever been and if you're a company that's not even thinking about how things could change... You're going to be left behind 🎯 This is why we built Blue Saturn (Techstars ‘23)'s verifier: to solve the exact problem EVERY COMPANY is experiencing today. Our innovation not only promises to expedite the process, but also ensures that no candidate is overlooked. Check us out below and reach out for early access if you're tired of seeing the market go the way it is too. Here to support the change every step of the way 🙏🏽

Been listening to a couple of our newer hires speaking with candidates these last few days - I’m impressed. ✅✅ It always surprises me how confident and natural folk can sound when so new to the company. I sense it’s down to being comfortable in the surroundings and the people around them and the fact that we look to hire ‘Culture add’s’ as opposed to ‘Culture fits’.. 👍👍 If you are in a Tech sales position and considering making a move reach out to Joseph Garner or Luke Owens. These guys will not waste your time.. ☎️☎️ #techsales #gtmsales #fjway

Today marks two years since I left my previous employer to do something I have always wanted to do, be my own boss. The past two years have been both challenging and rewarding. I would not have changed it for anything though. Watching Quest grow from the ground up has been awesome. I was stuck with a two year non compete contract I signed with my previous employer. That was probably the biggest challenge I had. It was not because it was hard to find work, that part I was able to navigate. The hardest part was when previous clients or people I worked with would call and want work done. I would have to tell them I could not work with them due to the non compete agreement. The construction industry is built on relationships and when people want to work with you they should be able to. I can see the point of maybe a non solicit agreement where you cannot try to take co-workers with you to a new company but infringing on the right to do work with people and continue to build on previous relationships is just wrong. I know for me I will never implement non competes. If I cannot do a good enough job making this company a place people want to work and they leave then that is on me and I should have been a better leader. So Linked in family I am curious to know what everyone thinks about Non Compete clauses. Are you for them or against them. What are the pros and cons....
