I met Daniel Murray at SaaStr last fall and today I got the chance to attend #Marketingland’s first show in Austin. From GTM strategy to content creation, the agenda was stacked with great speakers (Hi Lance Armstrong👋🏻). Here are some key takeaways I got from today’s sessions that will make me a better marketer when I log on tomorrow: 1. The best GTM strategy is a balance of opinion and insights, not strictly data. Interpret your dashboard, color it with context, and make sure your next steps align with your org’s problem statement. Thanks Rebecca S. & Tamara Grominsky 😄 2. Robin Daniels says to spend time on: 20% tactical work 70% strategic work 10% epic work that makes you & your stakeholders FEEL something 3. Email subject lines are a science 🔬 I thought I had some best practices down until Jay Schwedelson gave me 20+ more tests to run! 4. Be a leader that is in trenches with your team (like making Tiktoks to better understand your brand’s audience like Katie Welch 😉) - not just someone who oversees your team. Until next year! 🏰
