The CisLunar Economy. Whoa. The idea of a "cislunar economy" refers to the potential to utilize the resources and strategic locations between Earth and the Moon for economic gain. This could include mining and manufacturing activities and using key logistical points like the Earth-Moon Lagrange points for advantage. #cislunar #spacetech #spacetourism https://lnkd.in/gbsKFxCC

Investing in American innovators is the best investment you can make. As Michael Sheetz highlighted today, when it comes to space, America needs more shots on goal. Pushing boundaries -- even to achieve a small innovation --often leads to something remarkable and unforeseen. This is where the magic happens! But we need to do more. AstroForge is proud to be pushing the boundaries for what is possible in space. Seven Seven Six 7️⃣7️⃣6️⃣ gets that and it's great having them in our corner. https://lnkd.in/e3VYYAgt

California-based AstroForge is running a lean operation with a high-risk, high-reward mission to mine space for precious metals. Mining asteroids sounds like science fiction but has a very practical force behind it: as the world transitions away from fossil fuels and begins to rely even more heavily on electricity, it’s going to need more metals. But Earth’s resources are limited and many of the best places to mine for important metals are already being tapped.

Supply on certain minerals are running low here on Earth, which has scientists eyeing what they can find beyond our planet. Mining asteroids - or even the Moon - is an idea that's getting more traction. And the process could one day be used to help create more clean energy here on Earth. We spoke with Gordon Osinski, Professor and Planetary Geologist at Western University, with more.
