"TOPSIM going global business simulation game"is one important project that taught me a lot about business and sales. I remember presenting a slide that showed the problems our company faced. Our sales were dropping, we were losing employees, our competitors were growing in new areas, and our business was stuck. Our investigation showed that trying to compete with low prices was hurting us because we were not paying our employees enough. This caused our business to go downhill. When asked about our plan for the future, we decided to invest more in our employees and their skills. We realized that in the past, spending money on hiring new people led to less work being done, fewer products available, more overtime for existing staff who were also feeling demotivated. We learned that by treating and paying our employees well, they would be dedicated and care about the company. The main lesson from this experience is the importance of investing in and valuing your employees. By paying them fairly and creating a culture of trust and support, employees will be motivated and feel a sense of responsibility towards the company's goals and success. WHEN SIZE DOES MATTER In applying #humanfactors, we try to design for as many people as possible so they can each carry out similar activities easily, safely and comfortably. A simple example might be a workstation with adjustability to accommodate workers of different heights. There may be no particular advantage to being taller or shorter in this case. With the Six Nations rugby tournament now underway, it's interesting to note that different physical attributes of players in different positions can still be a distinct benefit. In the professional game, faster players tend to play as a winger or scrum-half where speed and agility are key. Forwards tend to be stockier and more powerful to cope with the rigours of contact with other players. Full backs are generally taller and lighter than the forwards so that they can jump for a ball more effectively. Additionally though, good technique, quick thinking and great teamwork are also vital skills for any position. #sixnations
