September is #PainAwarenessMonth At Avanos, we understand that pain is an invisible battle many individuals face daily. Throughout this month, we're joining the global community in acknowledging the challenges for those living with pain and the importance of finding solutions that improve their quality of life. Here's how you can make a difference: 1️⃣ EDUCATE YOURSELF: Understanding the different types of pain and their causes can help break down stigma and foster empathy. 2️⃣ BE COMPASSIONATE: A simple act of kindness can brighten someone's day. Let's be there for each other, offering a listening ear and a shoulder to lean on. 3️⃣ ADVOCATE FOR BETTER CARE: Advocate for improved pain management, access to healthcare and research funding. 4️⃣ SHARE STORIES: Share your experiences or stories of loved ones battling pain. Awareness grows through open dialogue. 5️⃣ SUPPORT LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS: Consider donating to, or volunteering with, local pain advocacy groups, clinics or charities. This month, let's join hands to raise awareness, show compassion and offer our unwavering support to those living with pain. 💙 #PAM2023 #chronicpain #acutepain #surgicalpain #injuryrecovery

With only 10 days left of the Woman of Impact campaign, I am reminded of the importance of the work we are doing. Today, my daughter's experience with POTs disease put it all into perspective. Living with this condition means constantly monitoring heart rate, like when she felt tightness and a faster rate during her morning game. Fortunately, she knows how to control it, but it doesn't make it any less challenging. Join the fight against heart disease and support the cause by donating here: https://lnkd.in/gvJ-2Xj3. Every little bit helps make a difference.

🌟 Join Me in Raising Awareness for Endometriosis! 🌟 This July, I’m walking 8000 steps a day to raise awareness and funds for Endometriosis, a condition affecting 1 in 10 women worldwide. Endometriosis is a chronic illness that affects people differently, and it takes an average of 8 years to get a diagnosis 😔 Currently, there is no cure. 8000 steps signifies the 8-year struggle women endure to get diagnosed. Please support by donating, liking, or sharing to raise awareness 🙏. 📅 Updates will follow... 13 days until the challenge begins! https://lnkd.in/eekXYGn7 #EndometriosisAwareness #CharityFundraiser #8000StepsADay #SupportTheCause #WomensHealth #EndometriosisAwareness #CharityFundraiser #8000MilesADay #SupportTheCause #WomensHealth

August 31 is International Overdose Awareness Day (#IOAD), which is the world’s largest annual campaign to end overdose, commemorate those who have died from overdose, and acknowledge the grief of the family and friends who have lost someone to overdose. The theme for 2023 is “Recognizing those people who go unseen”. It’s a chance to acknowledge, without stigma, people in our communities who are affected by overdose. By getting involved and joining in on the discussion, we are saying to those affected by overdose that “#weseeyou” and you don’t have to bear the burden of the crisis alone. Here are four major ways you can show your support in #IOAD2023: 1. Get Involved: https://lnkd.in/diNQWtxp 2. Find Resources: https://lnkd.in/gV5ztHEr 3. Tribute a Loved One Lost: https://lnkd.in/dbTUAm6D 4. Donate today! https://lnkd.in/dVrDatMP Learn more about this year’s campaign here: https://lnkd.in/gV5ztHEr We will also be sharing resources on our social media channels throughout the month of August!

Did you know there is a strong correlation between motor neurone disease (MND) and #dysphagia? Many people with MND experience swallowing difficulties, which can lead to nutritional challenges and affect their quality of life. Early detection and specialised care are essential for managing these issues effectively. There's some fantastic charitable organisations out there supporting those with MND like the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association - make sure you give them a follow and help spread awareness of MND and how we can spread awareness and help support those impacted by this life-changing condition. #mnd #motorneuronedisease #dysphgaia #swallowingdifficulties
