Thanks to EnsembleIQ & Pharmacy Practice+Business for highlighting different tactics pharmacists can use to identify new opportunities and make an impact in non-traditional ways. As my #pharmacy friends would call it; "Jeff - PharmaGeek - stuff" Look for “pain points” and opportunities “We interact with nearly every stakeholder (payers, prescribers, etc.) and own the most frequent and one of the most trusted touchpoints with a patient,” says pharmacist Jeff Wandzura, CEO of KEEP Labs. “Listening to each interaction with an empathetic ear will lead to that ‘aha’ moment in identifying a key pain point/opportunity before you know it.” This all flows through to the important work our team is doing at KEEP Health to close the data gap between the pharmacy dispense and true utilization in the home for specialty therapies. #digitalhealth #pharmacy #patientfirst #specialtypharmacy #lifesciences

Experienced Pharmacist Passionate About Integrative Health & Functional Medicine – Eager to Leverage Expertise in a Progressive Clinic Setting
The Power of Positivity in Pharmacy: A Personal Experience In the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, it's easy to forget the impact a simple gesture can have. As a pharmacist, I've had countless interactions that have reaffirmed this belief. Here are five key lessons I've learned from my experiences: 1. A smile can make a difference: I recall a particular instance when a patient complimented me, saying, "Your smile made my day". It was a simple, yet powerful reminder of the impact we can have on others. 2. The power of positivity: There have been numerous instances when my positive demeanor has helped diffuse tense situations. One such instance was when a patient was upset about the cost of a medication. Despite the initial tension, my approach and demeanor helped turn the situation around. 3. The importance of teamwork: In this particular situation, my technician had initially interacted with the patient. However, seeing the need for intervention, I stepped in to handle the situation. 4. The approach: I approached the patient with empathy and understanding, putting on what I like to call my 'Joker smile'. This not only helped lighten the mood but also made the patient feel heard and understood. 5. The outcome: The result was a complete turnaround. The patient, who had initially been quite upset, left with a smile on her face. It was a clear reminder of why I chose this profession in the first place. In conclusion, the power of positivity and empathy in the pharmacy cannot be overstated. It's not just about dispensing medication, it's about making a difference, one smile at a time.

Dedicating this year's World Pharmacist Day to Pharmacy Assistants from all around the world. They are our unsung heroes, our right hand man, and our most powerful behind the scene workers. They are experienced, skilled, diligent, low profile, humble, and always willing to offer a helping hand. When things goes wrong, they share the blame with us. However, when things are rosy, almost all the credit and spotlight goes to the pharmacist. Little known to outsiders, pharmacy assistants too had put in their fair share of effort. Would i prefer to work in a clinic with 4 other pharmacist or 4 assistants pharmacists? I would choose the latter. Almost all assistants’ pharmacists I have worked with are tireless workhorses without over the top ego problems that young pharmacists nowadays often have. p/s : thank you to pharmacist Mr Leong Wei Luen for this statement. Even we are in low rank as a pharmacy assistants but still have a pharmacist like you that appreciate our efforts. Attitude always ahead from knowledge.
