Raising awareness about #glioblastoma, an aggressive type of brain tumour affecting about 64,000 people across Europe every year, is crucial for both patients and carers. This means advocating for better research, policies, and access to advanced diagnostics and treatments for cancer patients, regardless of where they live in Europe. 📢 Addressing the persisting cancer care inequities starts with us though! Stand with us and help make the eradication of health inequities a priority in the EU! #GBMDay #BrainCancerResearch #BrainCancerAwareness
Today is Glioblastoma Awareness Day (GBM Day) 🧠 On 17 July 2024, we come together to recognise GBM Day, a crucial initiative established to shed light on one of the most aggressive forms of brain cancer. 🎗️ As part of our GLIOMATCH #GBMAwarenessCampaign, we have asked Cancer Patients Europe - CPE Chair and Patient Advocate Francisco Lozano to share his thoughts on the impacts of research and policy in the field. On this day, we call for EU decision-makers to prioritise research and ensure equal access to the latest diagnostic tools and treatments across Europe. We are proud to be working towards improving the lives of all those affected by GBM and pHGG together with our GLIOMATCH project partners. 📢 Stand with us in advocating for change. Spread the word and support the campaign. #GBMDay #BrainCancerResearch #BrainCancerAwareness

Did you know that cancer screening guidelines change? TBH - I didn't before I became deeply invested in the cancer care space when I joined Color, and now I understand that the guidelines for screening recommendations are as dynamic as the cancers they are designed to detect. Following suit from #colorectalcancerscreening updates #breastcancerscreening age is now set to 40, by all standards. It is important for every person to have a trusted resources up-to-date on the guidelines, and proactive in guiding you in your preventative healthcare needs. #cancerbenefits #cancerguidelines #ushealthcare #earlydetectionsaveslives
“The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force decision today is a critical change concerning women’s health and the fight against breast cancer, acknowledging that women in their 40s will benefit from mammography screening, and sending a strong message to referring physicians and women that breast cancer screening should begin earlier than age 50… Mammography screening is the cornerstone of our strategy to find this potentially deadly disease early, when it’s easier to treat successfully.” – American Cancer Society CEO, Dr. Karen Knudsen MBA PhD.
