Meet the minds at Scribbr: Introducing Patryk Uran, Front-end developer and responsible for the visual aspects of Scribbr’s website. 💻 🖱️ “Whenever you click on a button or open a modal on one of Scribbr’s pages, think of me as the one who put them there!” Patryk explains what he does in a nutshell. 🚀 He is part of a team of developers in control of our order- and customer management system called “Houston”, referencing to the location of NASA’s space center and the famous phrase “Houston, we’ve got a problem”. Quite the fun fact! 🌐 It’s a highly international team: “I consider this as one of the most exciting aspects of working at Scribbr. It’s interesting to learn how to balance Dutch straightforward communication and the more laid-back conversations with other colleagues. More importantly than only seeing our differences, such experiences show how similar we are as well!” 💪 Clearly, differences make for a stronger team. “While some prioritize working efficiently, others prefer taking more time to deliver well-analyzed code. This mix often results in higher-quality code delivered on time.” Let’s continue to find similarities, leverage differences, and use them to our advantage!

Excited to share my latest project - a website bringing the wonders of space closer to home 🚀🌌! Built using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, it showcases daily images and fascinating info from NASA's Astronomy Picture of the Day API. In this project I learned how to fetch information from APIs and showcase them on the website using JavaScript Document Object Model(DOM) . #coding #webdevelopment

There are plenty of unusual, unexpected, underappreciated user guides out there. You can find technical writing everywhere, whether you are flying a plane, boarding the International Space Station, giving a speech on stage, or building a church. If you have a problem of any sort, there’s probably a piece of technical documentation that may help you solve it. In this article, we gathered a few examples of such documentation, so they can enjoy their well-deserved five minutes of fame! #Day71:Exploring the Cosmos with Random Space Facts 🌌 🔹"The cosmos is within us. We are made of star-stuff." — Carl Sagan 🔹 Today, I'm excited to share my latest project: the Random Space Fact Generator. Built with HTML, CSS3, and JavaScript, this interactive tool delivers fascinating insights about celestial bodies at the click of a button. # Project Highlights: - Dynamic API Integration : Leveraging JavaScript, I fetch and display random space facts in real-time, making learning about the universe engaging and accessible. - Sleek and Responsive Design : Utilizing CSS3 for advanced styling and animations, I crafted a visually appealing interface that adapts seamlessly across devices, ensuring a smooth user experience. - User Engagement : The project includes a loading spinner for visual feedback and a button to fetch new facts, enhancing interactivity and usability. # Why This Project Stands Out: - Educational Value : It sparks curiosity and enriches knowledge about space, making complex astronomical concepts more digestible. - Technological Fusion : Integrating modern web technologies with scientific data enhances both coding skills and appreciation for astronomy. 📽️ Attached is a video showcasing the Random Space Fact Generator in action. Join me on this cosmic journey! 🔹 "We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars." — Oscar Wilde 🔹 Let's continue to explore the wonders of the cosmos through code and curiosity. #CodingJourney #WebDevelopment #SpaceFacts #APIIntegration #HTML #CSS3 #JavaScript Video:

🌎 Introducing SaturnV: A Fullstack Geospatial Task Manager App 🌏 Meet SaturnV, my latest fullstack project and an ode to the iconic NASA rocket, Saturn Five! 🚀 This app simplifies task management with Google Maps, perfect for handling location-sensitive tasks. SaturnV's frontend is powered by Vite, while Python handles the backend. The integration with Google Maps API brings in features like street view, layering, and accurate geotagging down to street level. One standout feature I'm particularly proud of is the ability to pan and zoom into task locations. Check it out in action in the video below! While SaturnV is a significant achievement, there's always room for improvement. Dive into technical documentation and quirks in the repository here: https://lnkd.in/gcUzfK9x This was developed as part of an exam project at RevoU (with tons of new additions after the exam). Thus, I'd like to give a big shoutout to my mentor, Mas Dion Maulana Williawarma, for the guidance and support during the development process! 🙌🏻 Developing a fullstack app is a journey with its challenges, but it's been a fun ride in my software engineering adventure. Stay tuned for more updates! #fullstackdeveloper #reactjs #pythonprogramming #googlemaps #taskmanagement #gis

ArcGIS + Python/GeoDjango + Augmented Reality. If this is an area where you can perform, I want to talk to you. I am looking for an intern/consultant/contract programmer who has an interest and experience in this area. I actually cannot afford to pay a professional contractors rate right now, so I am looking for an intern or collaborator who has a passion in this area. Angular front end work would also be good. I can pay something but really looking for a collaborator. You can get a feel for what we are doing at www.armavericks.com. We have a working prototype but it is too generic and we need to be closer to ArcGIS so we can do better spatial queries, etc. Lets talk if you have any interest. We can be very open about what we are doing and what we have done so far. We are opining for Beta soon but would really like to put a better ArcGIS integration onto the roadmap soon. #arcgis #python #augmentedreality

I've been working on a Chingu voyage over the last 4 weeks and I have learned SO much from the other developers I'm working with. This voyage is using an API from NASA of meteorite data and using that to create an app that allows users to visualize the data of meteors that have fallen around the globe. The 3 brilliant devs I've been working with have: 1. created an interactive map that gets your location and then shows you a map with varying sized bubbles correlated to meteor size 2. created charts that allow the user to change the parameters of the x and y axis to scale the data they are seeing (multiple types of charts too!) 3. wireframed the whole app and put it all together I created our About section and learned more CSS and (new to me) TailwindCSS to successfully work with fixed and relative positioning of avatars on a moon background - the avatars show mini bios of each of our team members when they are hovered over. In addition to using TailwindCSS for the first time, I also used MaterialUI for the first time. There are definite pros and cons compared to Bootstrap which is what I have been most familiar with styling-library wise up to this point. I was absolutely the least experienced on the team and was feeling really nervous about it, but everyone has been fantastically welcoming and helpful. No one batted an eyelash when I asked for help with my first pull request on GitHub and I can happily say I have merged a couple on my own since then! I also learned a ton about working with a team of developers and how to work in code that is not all mine. Small steps are still steps forward and like I used to say when I was running regularly, any movement is more than if I had just sat on the couch! We are on our last Sprint this week, and I can't wait to share the application we built once it is ready!

So a few weeks ago I started a blog, mainly to learn how to add a blog to a webpage but now this is a thing I do! Here's one of my early offerings simply titled 'space' promoting the fact that I recently designed, coded and animated SPACE INVADERS on my site! So if you have the time check them out! #spaceinvaders #spaceinvadersgame #indiedev #webdevblog #javascript

Updated berkaycubuk.com to a new design. Why? - Not expresses clearly what I do - Lacks systemized design - Focuses on more technical audience After new design - Shows what I do more clearly - More standardized design across all the site - Addresses non technical people too For who curios about technical aspects of it, before now I was using Hugo. Now I migrated all of it to Astro. The switch was faster than I expected and gone smoothly. To be honest, there is no big reason to make this tech switch but I wanted to see how will it go. Both old and new version's source code is available on this repo: https://lnkd.in/d_zQVqX3
