We believe feedback is the key to learning and improving as an individual, team, and company. 💪 That's why we value our open feedback culture so much! This feedback culture has a strong foundation in our values: 🚀 Growth | We need feedback to grow and are open to learning 👐 Openness | Giving and receiving feedback should be your habit 💪 Leadership | You are in charge of your own development 🎁 Happiness | We positively impact one another We recently renewed what we call our “feedback cycle”, which is designed to let feedback flow continuously. It consists of three elements: 1️⃣ Weekly one-on-one talks between team members and their managers—where team members own the agenda and coaching takes place. 2️⃣ Ongoing peer feedback—we encourage our team to regularly ask for feedback from peers, rather than waiting until a bi-annual review moment. 3️⃣ Bi-annual cockpit conversations where team members are in the lead (get it? In the cockpit ✈️) and reflect on their performance with their managers. We completed the first cycle in its new form last quarter and have received positive responses so far! But, as you should talk the talk, we are gathering feedback from our team to continuously improve this way of working. Let's grow together! 🚀

Soliciting feedback shouldn’t be rare. This is why we ‘normalize’ feedback loops through bi-monthly feedback sessions, where team members receive constructive feedback from both managers and peers. Our aim is that feedback is an ongoing conversation so we're all on the same page about our performance and areas for improvement. Understanding these opportunities for growth provides us all with a clear path forward.

Our team had a great discussion yesterday on creating a culture of feedback for success! We learned valuable models for sharing feedback more effectively and addressed some of the negative beliefs that keep people from delivering feedback. For many people, giving feedback is seen as an uncomfortable interaction that may upset the other person and negatively impact the relationship. However, when presented well, feedback is a gift from our colleagues. It helps us develop to be at our best and identify any blind spots that could be holding us back. Wouldn’t YOU want more information from your colleagues that could help you succeed?! Let's all embrace giving and receiving feedback as an opportunity for growth and success!

Companies should stop conducting culture feedback sessions and manager feedback sessions if they are going to do nothing about it. One of my previous managers used to conduct monthly manager and culture feedback sessions and he used to write his action points from the feedback. And he used to actually send me an update on the progress of those action points every two weeks to keep me informed. If no one is taking any action, it is simply a wastage of time and effort. #manager #culture #feedback
