IDMS / ADSO / COBOL / Mainframe Application Consultant - Modernization, performance, application design and development
These are the types of ‘mainframe’ job descriptions I see being requested and the industry says there is a mainframe skills shortage. Well, no friggin’ wonder. I don’t know what half these acronyms stand for let alone posses whatever skills they represent. Are mainframe budgets so low you can’t hire a mainframe person without loading them up with every other job in the company? I’m surprised cleaning toilets is not on there. That will be next. I am still deciding between living the remaining of my life in poverty on social security or trying to get a job where they employ mainframe workers. Nobody should have to have this kind of a job description as it shows the abuse many mainframe workers have been subjected to in recent years. I’m dead broke but I give a big F-U to this employer for being so ignorant about what it takes to support mainframes.
