FIFA has issued the following statement outlining their actions in line with the Dortmund decision: https://lnkd.in/e8eSH66H A few key points to highlight are: - The FFAR will, with retroactive effect as from 24 May 2023, be suspended in their entirety for all transactions with a link to the German market. - A link to the German market will be deemed to exist as soon as any party to a transfer (agent, club, player or coach) has a link to Germany. The suspension of the FFAR will then apply to all parties to the relevant transaction, regardless of their domicile. - Other FIFA member associations remain obliged to implement national football agent regulations, but FIFA instructs them to provide for exemptions for transactions with a link to Germany, as outlined above. As noted in the statement, FIFA will abide by the injunction as long as it remains in effect. As proceedings continue across Europe this month, we intend for the decision of the Dortmund court to only be further reinforced and the FFAR to be suspended worldwide, until a new body of rules can be created that are more reflective of the transfer market.

Attorney at Law (Trainee) , LL.M. International Business Law / specialization in International Sports Law at University of Zurich
One of the amendments that is added to FIFA 2024 statutes is para. 3 of Article 49 of the statutes in which FIFA is obliged to publish the Court of Arbitration for Sport awards concerning FIFA, which was not provided in the previous edition (Art 56). Now, that is a practical step to put an obligation upon FIFA to publish the CAS decisions, which is useful for academics and sports lawyers to have better access to the cases since the CAS website has not properly published all of the decisions in recent years. Here is the link for the new edition: https://lnkd.in/dAf6CcxY

At long last the VAR, (video assistant referee) is going to be part and parcel of technological sublimation in our country. This has been a long time cry of many Tanzanians especially football fans. If God wishes the deal its gonna be done soon. That is one thing , the other is how people are reacting upon the presence of this rare technology. Their concern is centered on how its going to operate following the fact that it will be only available at Mkapa stadium. The question is, what about the matches that will be played lets say at CCM kirumba? Its a logic question and concern since its going to a bit challenging, my view on this is positive. I see this as an opportunity to Tanzanians especially those IT specialists and the alike. But also i see clarity to all issues pertaining football alive and present at work. Therefore lets first accept the golden chance at place, then we can have advanvement from that point as i believe its from its efficient plus active operation that the extension speed of that technology will arise. LAKINI JE , do we have enough and competitive specialsts for the operation of it or is it going to be run and managed by "watu weupe" in our own nation ?

𝗙𝗜𝗙𝗔 𝗹𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗯𝗮𝗻𝘀 In line with its continued efforts to promote transparency and maintain full disclosure in relation to the activities of the FIFA judicial bodies, FIFA has launched a digital tool that lists the clubs subject to registration bans. Based on FIFA’s legal framework, a registration ban is one of the potential disciplinary measures that may be imposed on clubs by the FIFA judicial bodies or by the 'Football Tribunal'. Once a registration ban has been imposed, the club in question will be prevented from registering new players, either nationally or internationally and whether as amateurs or as professionals, for the full duration of the measure. The club will therefore only be able to register new players again after serving the ban in its entirety or in the event that the ban is lifted by the FIFA administration (usually upon the completion of one or more specific actions by the club). The primary objective of this new tool is to provide stakeholders, including players and clubs, as well as the general public, with an overview of all clubs currently prevented from registering new players. #MuñozAriasSportsLawyers #sportslawyers #FIFA
