Between time differences and changing locations: How does it actually work? Being a Creative Producer means more than just creating concepts and mood boards. It's also about ensuring that everything runs smoothly during on-location shoots. At PURELEI, I work in various locations, from beautiful spots in Germany and Europe to, occasionally, Hawaii. Managing shoots that can last from 2 days to 3 weeks isn't always easy. It requires discipline, adaptability, and the ability to work effectively with others, especially when we're living and working closely together for a while. In our dynamic setup, my teammates often call me "the Mom" of the group – I guess that's the fate of a producer 😅. Our talented photographer, Rosalie Nagy, takes on the important role of making sure we are all well-fed. Every production is like a puzzle, with each person adding a crucial piece to create something amazing. 🧩 PS: Dreaming of Hawaii? Hiring a talented photographer and/or videographer can be expensive 🤑 Our top tip to maximize each dollar in your content capture budget is to enlist the dream team and staff according to your needs. A few questions to ask when thinking about your staffing needs: ⏳ How long do I need coverage for? 📷 Will simultaneous events/sessions need to be captured at the same time? 🗒 Do I have any on-site client requests and/or photo/video needs? Knowing the answers to these questions will help you determine the number of photographers and videographers you need, as well as if you need any additional assistance from an on-site project manager or production assistant.

Videography / Photography / Graphic Design / Branding, Marketing & Advertising / Management / Audio Production
As a videographer, we spend ALOT of time getting ready and preparing for a shoot. So when someone requests that we come do "a shoot" or "film" there's ALOT more involved than one would think... . The time it takes to make sure ALL your gear is present, batteries are charged, that takes hours of time and preperation alone. All lenses, cameras and regularly used items need to be checked, cleaned, possibly maintenanced, etc. . We have to make sure all our audio equipment is working and fully functioning, there's alot of small things that build to create a larger picture. After all this work, we pack the bag and do like 3 million look overs to make sure that we have everything...That probably takes a good few hours 😂🤣😂 after all that's done, we just sit around and worry, we get lost in our own heads about the horrid possibilities of whats going to go wrong and what we can do to try and prevent it.... SO JUST TO LET YOU KNOW, we didn't even get started yet and we have already put in hours of work! Then it comes to the shoot, there's nothing quite as unique as trying to bring people's CRAZY ideas to life and make a video that does a great job of representing and showcasing that idea. Sometimes clients are prepared, and sometimes they're not... . It's honestly such a journey to work with some people who don't even take the time to invest their own time in what they believe in. It's ok to hire someone who has the skillset to come up with ideas and build concepts and scenes if you're incapable, just make sure to communicate with your videographer/photographer and let them know these details beforehand. . The best thing you could do is sit with your photographer or videographer and be as transparent as possible! Let them know your vision, and they will let you know what they can do! ♥️

#EdifyInsights V Let’s say, your first project as a photographer or videographer comes about. How would you go about planning it? Here are a few #insights for your #preshoot prep from a team that has covered over 2000 shows including the #G20Summit. If it is a closed Studio Shoot - Firstly, it is extremely important to have a physical idea of the space before you book it. Make a detailed #shootingschedule, including start and end times for each part of the shoot so as to maximise efficiency. Finally, prior to the start of the shoot ensure doing technical tests with your equipment in the studio, including #lightingsetups and #camerasettings so that there aren’t any surprises on shoot day. For a large scale Event - Before the event, ensure you do a #LocationRecce. Organize your gear, understand the location, and create a #shotlist. Build a #strategy as to make sure you make the most of the location. Also, check and obtain all required permits and licenses. In case of an Ad Shoot - Don’t forget to give your input for the PPM Deck. The #storyboard is your bible and #shotlist your strategy. Licenses and permits are extremely important too. Make sure you are aligned with the producers, models, actors, #brand so as to perfectly blend their vision with your creativity. One thing to remember is you get some BTS and footage that will help you promote your work and establish your brand. It’s the best way to make your work reach more people. At #EdifybyBlueApple we ensure that you’re not just a photographer, videographer or Editor but also a professional.

The holiday season is not the time to feel like you've been left hanging by your content team. 🤕 With clients nationwide, how does The Social Hour handle content creation and collection? 👉 When onboarding a new client, we ask for all assets and content from previous photoshoots. 👉 Typically, we will schedule a first shoot before posting for our team––our CEO, photographer, and videographer––to visit and capture exactly the content needed for (at least) your first quarter. And to connect with you IRL! 👉 After this initial shoot, we will visit on an as-needed basis or vet and hire a fabulous local photographer to work with you and your team, after an introductory call and provided shot list. ⭐️ We like to shoot (pun intended 📸) for a new batch of content every 3-4 months, depending on the industry and client. 🤷♀️ What about all that time in between photo and video shoots? We ask clients to send us real-time content whenever they want to. Hanging holiday decor in your office? Send us a photo! An awesome client ready to film a raving testimonial? Shoot it our way! Our team will edit, caption, and post, all our clients do is capture the moment.

We run production days like a very tight (but very fun and creative) ship. Here are our 8 steps to executing video & photo production! 🎥 Planning out photo and video shoots can be a lengthy and detailed process. After many years of experience (and a lot of trial and error), we’ve developed a straightforward method to plan and execute a flawless photo or video shoot for our clients. 1. Pre-planning and development We use this phase to discuss internally and to outline creative ideas. In addition, we research what media exists for similar projects, review data and analytics from your past projects if applicable, and get more details about the project. 2. Finalizing planning details 3. Pre-production timelines & approvals We use this phase to plan production logistics. While there may be several meetings to discuss logistics, we’ve found this stage crucial so we are prepared for production day. 4. The day of production! 5. Internal footage reviews Our team likes to review everything we captured on the production day. This step helps us ensure we have all the shots and assets needed to start the editing phase. 6. Post-production timelines & expectations 7. Revision rounds for the footage This is the time for our clients & their stakeholders to take a look at the content captured and make final approvals. We always suggest adding some time during this phase just in case! 8. Wrap up & delivery We use this final wrap-up phase to organize the final files in your client space, making it easy for you to download the videos and photos for publication. Have questions on our process? How much does it cost to do a photo / video shoot? I get this question all the time and it all comes back to these 3 components: - Scope / Deliverables - Production Quality - Resources We can do shoots on a budget for $5-10K and at the same time, we do projects that are $100k+ (and beyond). Here are the key factors that make a difference in the budget: - Pre Production Timing: This is all dependent on the level of production and the budget to product the shoot. - Deliverables: What are the clearly defined deliverables for the shoot? Is it 5 variations of a 90-second commercial? Are you shooting 50 different products for Ecomm Shots that need 7 selects each? Always Start with the deliverables that are needed. - Production Talent (Photographers, DP, Videographer, Art Director, Creative Director, Producer, Hair/Makeup, Grips, Production Coordinator, Production Crew, Lighting techs, Audio Tech, Camera Tech, Production Assistant). - On-camera Talent: How many talent will you be shooting? What's their pay structure? (Day rate or base + usages royalties) - Location: This can be as simple as a studio rental to full homes/specialty locations (like beaches). - Props: This can be as simple as a few hundred dollar budgets for simple props to as complex as bringing in cars, specialty wardrobes, boats, custom sets, etc.... - Production Equipment: What type of cameras are you shooting with? It can be as simple as 1 camera with a videographer to a full camera crew with grip trucks. - Permits: if you plan to have a full crew, you are most likely going to have to pull permits - Insurance: Any shoot will need an insurance cert pulled to cover the production. This will be required by venues/equipment rentals/vendors.
