To all companies with IVRs that say ‘we are currently experiencing a higher than average call volume’ could you please make sure these are accurate? It feels like since the pandemic these have been the default and you can’t have a higher than average volume if it’s actually the average call volume over the last month 😁 On top of that, sometimes the message plays and the call gets answered in a few seconds so can’t be right. What is needed is a system that monitors call volume over time and plays the appropriate message, if you want to let people know when wait times are longer. Preferably with a place in the queue or an estimated wait time.
