Fractional Head of Content | Creator Economy & No Code Enthusiast | 3 x Ironman Finisher | @jamesbishopio on TikTok, Insta & YouTube
I'm working on a new venture. Let me explain.... We all know making money from podcasting is a challenge. ↳ Sponsorship & network advertising is out of reach for most of us. ↳ Subscription models are tricky and selling merch can feel icky. Creators also deep down know the real value is in live fan experiences. I've experienced first-hand the love fans have for their favourite creators. But.... ↳ Live shows are expensive to put on and touring a show even harder. ↳ They require a team of people to make them happen. ↳ A podcast’s fans are likely spread worldwide, so filling a venue is tough. I spent 2023 looking for a solve that facilitate this creator x fan connection and I think we've landed on something very special.... Introducing PodcastsLive - the world’s first company dedicated to hybrid live shows, providing a simultaneous in-person and livestream show experience. www.podcastslive.com We’ve seamlessly integrated: ↳ state-of-the-art live performance venues (London, LA, NYC & Las Vegas) ↳ with real-time streaming & virtual production studio ↳ show ticketing & scheduling ↳ community-building & monetisation tools This integration establishes the ultimate destination for podcast creators and their devoted fans, serving as their spiritual home. And, most excitingly, there are: 🚫 No upfront costs 🚫 No venue costs 🚫 No production costs 🚫 No streaming costs 🚫 No technology costs 🚫 No minimum commitments Really so excited for what's to come. Our first live event is under 4 weeks away! If you're keen to hear more and get a sneak peek, I'd love to show you more. Drop me a DM or shoot me an email. OK bye #podcast #livepodcast #podcasting #podcaster Amanda Brown Rob Proctor

Great read from NY Times (4.26.24) on the rise of video podcasting - leveraging audio platform/podcast to drive larger audiences and meaningful ad revenue with concurrent video production, delivery, and media distribution. Some insiders cite that relative to an audio-only advertisement, a 60-second video ad read by the podcast host might bring in an extra 60 percent in revenue per 1,000 listens. A podcast with a conservatively budgeted video operation and a large and consistent viewership could comfortably justify the added costs. #creatoreconomy #podcasting #videopodcasting #roi

Founder & CEO, Visual Storytelling Institute | Keynote Speaker | Author | Professor | EIR | Host of the Visual Storytelling Today podcast
“16 of the top 30 podcasts in the final quarter of 2023 — more than half — were available as filmed videos, compared with just seven of the top 30 from that same period two years earlier.”It sure looks like my Visual Storytelling Today podcast was a video early adopter since 2017. Well, I had to justify the name ;) https://lnkd.in/e8GGyS9Q #podcasting #videopodcast #visualstorytelling

#Podcast execs weren’t shy about how difficult of a year it was for their businesses, facing #advertising slowdowns and the challenges associated with a maturing medium. Despite the ghost of 2023 following them into the new year, heads of #podcasts at five companies were optimistic about 2024 when speaking with Digiday, sharing positive signals of continued #audiencegrowth, new advertising dollars coming into the medium and opportunities to expand shows into franchises. But they still face stiff competition as podcast networks fight to gain listeners and push into video to grow the reach of their content. In this piece by Sara Guaglione, we speak to Steve Ackerman of Sony Music Entertainment, Steve Lickteig of CNN, Steve Raizes of Paramount, Will Pearson of iHeartMedia, Angie More of Wondery, Ray Chao of Vox Media, and Bryan Moffett of NPR.
After a tough year, podcast execs say 2024 will bring in new advertisers amid stiff competition for listeners
