A ton of great quantitative insights in the latest MSCI Inc. Net Zero Tracker: ⬇️ ����𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐬 * We are on a path to a +3°C world, twice more than the level that science indicates would prevent the worst effects of global warming. * Companies continue setting science based targets (20%, +8pts vs. last year) * 66% / 86% of utilities in developed / emerging markets have no target to add renewable capacity by 2030 📝 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬 * Less than half (45%) of U.S.-listed companies disclosed their Scope 1 and 2 carbon emissions vs. 73%of listed companies in developed markets globally. It's 29% vs. 54% for scope 3. * Less than 1/3 companies in Healthcare, Financials and Communication Services disclose scope 1-2 GHG emissions. 💲𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐬 * The cost of reducing emissions ranges on average from $165/tCO2e (Shipping) to $555/tCO2e (Non-ferrous metals and processes). * Prices for carbon credits keeps on falling, to $4.7/tCO2e in Q1 24 vs. $8.1/tCO2e in 2021.
