Finding meaning in work might be challenging for some. Meet Dynatracer John Rocker, who shares his story and advice in the episode of 🎙 Real Talks. "We often think long-term, in sprints, months, years. Instead, focus on the day-to-day. Think in micro-moments; then day after day, month after month, you'll look back and see the progress and the impact." Tune in for more advice and stories about some of his favorite moments at work, like his New York Stock Exchange closing ceremony experience 🏛️, or making one kid's dream come true together with Tony Hawk. 🛹 Listen on your favorite streaming platform. 🔗 https://dynatr.ac/40lNiPU

Helping teams perform, improving lives through simpler protection decisions. CIO, MBA, SAFe, HCD. Insuretech, Oil&Gas, Fintech
Malcolm Gladwell in Outliers introduced the 10,000 hour insight. Where if you practiced something sufficiently long, you gain some superpower (I paraphrase) Growing up, watched a ton of TV series. Pretty sure 10000 hour mark was hit pretty quickly. Work life in a company is like a TV series to me. Every year is a season with a major story arc. Each season needs continuity and new excitement to keep audience hook. As #employees were both audience and #actors. After 10,000 hours, this mapping somehow became automatic and helped a lot in remembering and tracking and connecting what's happening across the enterprise. It's important because we find #meaning versus being a cog. better yet share the greater meaning and spread the joy. I'm pretty sure we would have even watched multiple shows simultaneously! And miraculous remembering the details. So here goes. Each episode is like a project. Some episodes are standalone problem solving e.g. #sherlockholmes case. Some are mega arc plot movers towards his nemesis #moriaty Treating projects as episodes, there's a beginning, problem, conflicts and final resolution. Follow the #narrative when explaining to stakeholders. Here's another #mnemonic hint, assign someone to be a hero. Even you can be a hero. The problems faced are the #usecases, tasks or #milestones. 1) Remember the villains = learnings from failures and how to beat, avoid or prepare for them. 2) remember allies = a friend, a guru, #knowledgebase, interdepartmental ally that's always helpful towards a goal. 3) Remember characters with #individual strengths and leverage them 4) acknowledge the character flaws and help/augment one another. My favourites are #theAteam and #mcgyver back then as a kid. Ingenuity and #teamwork will always solve the day. And in The A-team, they know each other's flaws and strengths. Keep #positive that the heroes and team will always solve and win the day regardless of the challenges. Because you are a #hero too! p/s: I love it when a plan comes together ;) https://lnkd.in/gbhiRNR6 #insomniapost #10000hours #mnemonics #beingpartofthecompany
