Hey Everyone, I hope you're doing well. I am currently focusing on my professional development and would love to get your insights. From your experience, what are the most critical skills that are in high demand in our industry right now? Additionally, could you share some advice on how to effectively develop these skills? Also, I am curious to know your thoughts on the importance of skills versus a degree. Does the industry primarily hire based on skills, or is having a degree essential? If hiring is based mostly on skills, what challenges might one face without a degree..

Being laid off does not lower the value of your skillset. Consider now, you are able to create your own opportunity and not be confined to a job description. What to do next? -Align your skills to chosen industry -Find the problems within your industry -Create a service offer to resolve the problem ^^This is why your skills are in demand, consumers and businesses need you….. If you need any support or guidance getting started, I have resources for you here https://buff.ly/49jGhmN

Happy Friday! It is interesting how many companies seem to be more interested in people with specific industry experience, than in finding candidates with proven skills who may come from a different industry. In my experience, you can learn an industry fairly quickly, but the skills you have developed over your career take time as you have to go through so many different events and experiences to learn many of them, and that only happens with time. Curious to hear thoughts on Industry Experience vs Skills/Soft Skills experience?

🚨 The #1 way to create a path to your dream role: This process is to analyze the gap between you now and the role you want to be in. This skims the surface as every person’s journey is unique. ▪️Find your dream job description. (Not ultimate dream job, not at first. Get a feel for the exercise.) ▪️Read the requirements and skills of this position. (Easier if you print it out.) ▪️For each component of the description and skills, have a self awareness moment and ask yourself: “Have I done this before?” “Have I done anything LIKE this before?” ▪️For each component of the description and skills that you think you do not possess, now is the time to think: “How can I gain this experience?” (Either via a new role, new responsibilities, shadowing, anything.) 📢 A lot of times people don’t remember the things they do at work or downplay them because it’s just something that you do, and you don’t necessarily think it’s “Pulitzer Prize winning”. 💭 I challenge you to keep a OneNote or a list somewhere, and write down everything you do in your role everyday while within the role. You will be surprised! I actually wanted to make a video of this, but I hope I explained it very well. Let me know how this works for you! Reach out or comment if you have any questions! ♻️Share this post to help others!
