Brilliant work by Sarah Brady in our design team, she's used #Optymyse to create a #peoplefriendly #contactcentre #wallboard design which combines calming colours, visuals and sounds to recognise great work and remind #contactcentre agents to take a break when call volumes are low and #kpis are high. Also possible vis desktop. Another day at the office.... makes me realize how offices have changed, including what we make possible in the office. This is the setting of the Sound Baths I am hosting today. A year ago I started with an experiment. To bring my crystal bowls (and sometimes gongs) to the office and do a lunch-time sound baths. Just half an hour - in and out - so people can be in time for their next meeting. A year later the sound baths can count on a loyal crowd of employees, enjoying the sounds. Along the way I added an end-of-day sound bath, because people asked for it. And the response is beautiful. People are surprised about the powerful impact. Some say that while meditation is like taking the stairs, a sound bath is like taking the elevator. It's effortless. And it attracts a great diversity of people. Well in true Steve Gregory fashion. Life has got in the way of posting on here since saying that I would more regularly a couple weeks ago. I often beat myself up by not getting round to the things I said I would because of how busy I allow myself to be. I’m not proud of that at all, but sometimes it feels impossible to avoid. I drove down to the coast last night for 5 nights with the family. And on the way I was getting wound up thinking of all the stuff I haven’t done that I should have. It meant I spent the entire drive sending a million voice notes, dictating emails and calling people. However, just being by the sea can give you a change of perception and it’s allowed me to switch the negative thoughts. I actually thought, wow we’ve done a lot so far this year at FITLIFE HEALTH CLUB LIMITED rather than what we haven’t yet done. In fact, what we’ve done in the last two weeks is pretty mental tbh and made me realise I need to give myself a break for all the unreplied emails and unchecked to do lists. In the last TWO WEEKS here has what’s happened. 1. Added 8 reformer Pilates beds to FitLife Summertown. 2. Changed the FitLife Summertown timetable. 3. Onboarded 2 new full time staff. 4. Launched a new small group training product. 5. Full staff quarterly meeting at both sites. 6. Began a full refurb at FitLife Haddenham. 7. Successfully communicated logistics to members for the closure of areas of the club for the refurb. 8. Added temporary timetable to accommodate studio closures in Haddenham. 9. Written a new commission scheme for sales team. I’m sure I have missed things but that’s to be expected. Anyway, this is just a reminder to those who struggle with only seeing the things you’ve not done on your list rather than the things you have. #entrepenuer #business

Your environment has more impact on you than you realize. I recently attended a training session about the use of in-ear monitors during musical performance. I learned about building my personal audio mix from all of the available feeds to drive my best vocal delivery. Most surprising was including certain options to help drive emotional expression, which can help me connect with the audience. I'm a novice and didn't realize that such subtle adjustments would make such big impact. Managing what I choose to hear clearly contributes to how I project, emote, and behave on stage. That got me thinking. Couple selective sound with how a room smells, is lit, composed, etc, and you have a lot of control over how you perform and engage all the time. When I consider the areas where I spend the most time, are any already set up ideally? to meet my needs? just function well enough? My favorite chair at home is comfortable, has lighting options, is optimized for why I sit there, and quickly and easily configurable. No wonder I like being there. It's a space that is designed to make me happy. But what about my work space? With this framework in mind, I tried to objectively evaluate my office space. It's not as organized as I want for workflow. It's not as clean as I want. There's no good scent control. No ambient sound control. There are things to do that would make me feel better and happier in my space. If I extend that thinking to how other people perceive and behave in my space, the list gets longer. Simple things that drive not just productivity, but happiness and wellbeing. It's subtle, but you have a lot of power over how you work and feel by managing your spaces. What simple changes can you make to your spaces that make them better suited for you? Decluttering is a start, but what else? You likely spend a lot of time there so positive changes can yield long-lasting results. *Photo is my dog in his favorite spot in the house. Clearly optimized for his comfort.
