Picture this… It’s 1920 and some guy asks you to invest in the “American Professional Football Association”, would you? What about “Major League Baseball” in 1901? Or the Basketball Association of America in 1946? When we look back on these situations from the past, we see things clearly that were not clear to those at the time. The opportunity to get in ground level of a professional sports organization doesn’t happen often. Volleyball is the 5th most popular sport in the world, eclipsing all the sports listed above. It’s also one the fast growing sport in the US in terms of program growth and participation at the youth level. The Volleyball League of America is aiming to capture the success emanating from this sport. With our season fast approaching we are looking to finalize sponsorships. If you want to cement your name or business at the forefront of what could be the next big sports league in the USA…message me! (Seeking Silver and Bronze level opportunities)

Let’s start with the bad news. Record-setting rookie #CaitlinClark won’t be making her Team USA Basketball debut in 2024 💔 Bummed? Me too. It’s a fair reaction, especially considering the lift in ad engagement that advertisers experience when Clark is featured in a TV program or ad. It’s what EDO has dubbed “The Caitlin Clark Effect.” Now the good news. Clark’s absence from the #Olympics doesn’t imply a decline in viewership or ad effectiveness for this year’s games. Star power and a good narrative fuel live sports engagement, and Team USA has both in abundance. The women’s team will seek its 8th straight title since 1992 with WNBA icons including Britney Griner, Diana Taurasi, A’ja Wilson, and Breanna Stewart suiting up for their shot at gold. Also consider the WNBA’s double-digit growth in ad effectiveness over the last two seasons, and women’s basketball will have no trouble enticing a hugely engaged audience in Paris – with or without Clark. https://lnkd.in/ewfdiN4c EDO, Inc.

Applauding fellow Canadian and disruptor of the status quo,Marc-Andre Fleury, for using his power position and privilege to challenge an influential and predominant structure in Canadian society - the NHL. Fleury shows us that regardless of your position, power and privilege in this society, drawing attention to, elevating and celebrating the richness of Indigenous culture is something we all can do. It is a way to bring visibility to the broader conversation about the truth of Canada’s efforts to make invisible the original peoples of this land now called Canada. Truth And Reconciliation is the work of all of us. How do you choose to challenge, elevate and advance this work in your own life? https://lnkd.in/gVfNgd2A

Proud to share that WAIPU North America, a member of our organization (www.WAIPU.org), has filed a groundbreaking antitrust lawsuit against the National Hockey League (NHL) and the major junior hockey industry. This lawsuit exposes the systematic exploitation of teens pursuing their dream of playing in the NHL. The case targets an anticompetitive cartel comprised of the NHL, the Canadian Hockey League, the Ontario Hockey League, the Western Hockey League, the Québec Maritimes Junior Hockey League, and their member clubs. Defendants' agreements to restrain competition for these players have rendered them nothing more than the property of the major junior teams that draft them. WAIPU fully supports this important case and stands with those who seek to end this exploitation. #AntitrustLawsuit #JuniorHockeyIndustry #EndExploitation #waipu
