A fun conversation with Professor Game from a few years back. All about creating emotion from player interaction, where ideas come from, what to do with design frustration (it's a real thing), the importance of optimism in innovation work, organizing player activity to do something grand in the real world, and balancing gameplay with the 4 Keys to Fun. A fresh rebroadcast. Have a listen.

I sat down with Emmanuel de Maistre, CEO of Scenario, to talk about gen AI and web3 gaming—with some UGC for good measure—for Sequence XP.
TLDR: we talked about the entire future of gaming.
https://lnkd.in/dkzhVct2
We covered a lot of territory but especially:
- How will gen AI help developers?
- How will gen AI reward gamers?
- How will gen AI accelerate creators?
We talked about how web3 is vital for reigning in and accelerating this future, in a world in which anyone can create anything based on anything, provenience is crucial (web3 is the only trustable way to track that) and sharing upside is crucial (web3 allows for easy royalty sharing and participation).
Dive in!
Steve has a significant pulpit to address things relevant to our industry...I always learn something new from his StraightFireVR podcasts and the many guests he features.
This episode includes some great discussion on Expedia/VRBO and Airbnb as you might expect, but it also contains an important discussion that transcends renting homes, fighting for homeowners and serving guests.
Domestic violence is never acceptable. Ever. Whether the abuser is male or female. Allegations need to be addressed immediately and seriously...particularly with such potentially damning video evidence of injuries in this case. There is no denying something bad happened to her. None.
This is an issue that unfortunately is bigger than the VR industry, and I'm glad Steve put a spotlight on this. Do a quick Google search and there are PAGES of resources available to help deal with this character defect far too many people have to deal with. This is good - lots of folks to help support, but also bad as it suggests it happens more often than all of us know.
We can all be better humans...but not beating your partner seems like it should be something we learned a long time ago. Maybe I'm just lucky to have been raised by a strong mom and a fully supportive dad. It's really too bad if my experience is not the norm...and I’m learning it’s not so much anymore.
I think the only way we'll collectively get better is to continue addressing and discussing this issue when it's known, particularly when it rears its ugly head so close to home.
Straight Fire VR is back with Jessica Singer, Miriam Ramsey for real talk on Women in the VR industry and the tragedy of Silence on Domestic Assault and the "Bro Code". We also discuss #Airbnb, #Expedia, #VRMA and #Casago. Special thanks to Vanessa de Souza Lage who we mention and will be on a future episode. Thanks to , Heather Macias- Milo for all of her inspiring video work for this very sensitive topic!
What do you want to bet that this week's episode is about gambling? Ben, a forming gaming industry employee goes deep on the odds and gives some great advice on how to approach the casino!
It's live. The gameshow I've been working on for the last 11 months is finally live. As a video creator, the hardest thing is hitting publish. And I'm so proud to show you the first episode.
Going from an empty Sprinter Van to an entire gameshow ready for YouTube felt like an insurmountable task. But after taking hundreds of baby steps, it's here.
My goal, as instructed by Mr. Beast, is to make 100 episodes and improve one thing in each release. After the 100th episode, if I'm not seeing serious traction, it's time to reevaluate.
Let me know what you think!
