Preventative care > Reactive care Both approaches are essential for patients recovering from pain or injury. However, preventative care uniquely focuses on guiding individuals to avoid surgery, eliminating the need for continual quick fixes for pain relief, and ultimately helping them feel their best in the long term. Patient recovery does not revolve around a typical 9-5 schedule. Just because it's the weekend doesn't mean my job as a surgeon is finished. Sometimes, I need to go into the hospital to check in on patients who are recovering on the weekend. At Axis, our patients are like family. If we have a patient in the hospital recovering from surgery, we make sure to follow up with them and track their recovery around the clock! We're there no matter the date or time, checking in on the progress of our patients. Patient recovery is and has always been our main priority. #weekendrounds #spinesurgeon #patientrecovery

What's the difference between long- and short-term care? Long-term care is usually geared toward those who have a progressive or chronic health condition that requires ongoing care, while short-term care can last anywhere from several days to months and it’s intended to help someone recover from surgery, hospitalization, injury, or illness. Understanding your needs is the most important part when deciding on what kind of care is best for each client. #FAQFriday #NationalLongtermCareMonth
