If you are a producer when you are considering shooting overseas to save money, it's important to consider not just the locations but also the availability of diverse talent. Some countries may offer lower production costs but might lack a diverse trained talent pool, which can be a crucial facto. Without talent you don't have a production . Any good casting director / service company should alway be upfront with you about local talent pools #castingdirector #marksummers

🌄 What is the Location Scouting Program? The IDM Location Scouting Program allows a production company to come to South Tyrol for a tour of max. 3 days and visit some possible locations for their film project guided by one of our local Location Scouts. 🧐 What does the program cover? What the program would cover is the cost of the work of a location scout (3 days tour and preparation), whereas travel and accommodation expenses of those who will come to South Tyrol from the production are on the production itself. 📜 How to apply? To apply for the location scouting program it is necessary to fill out the form below. Especially important is submitting a mood board, a synopsis, a rough budget, and the filmography of the production company, as well as the preferred period to come to South Tyrol for the scouting. After receiving this info, it takes one week to evaluate if the program is eligible for the Scouting Program and, if so, the production is put in touch with a local Location Scout who will organize the tour. ❌ Who is NOT eligible? Short films, documentaries, or commercials, as well as production companies that have received development and pre-production support from IDM or have already taken advantage of the IDM Scouting program in previous years, are not allowed to take part in the Location Scouting program. 📆 Deadline You can submit your application no later than September 27th, 2024. Once production has obtained the support for the scouting program, it is necessary to take advantage of the service within the year 2024. Please note that resources for the scouting program are limited, hence support will be dispensed until the fund comes to an end. 📌 Want to know more? Take a look at a selection of South Tyrolean locations on the Location Database: https://lnkd.in/eKAmW3zn In-detailed information on the Location Scouting program is available on our website: https://lnkd.in/eehQjjjR Application Form: https://lnkd.in/eMtyymNS #IDMFilmCommission #Südtirol #locationscouting

My personal philosophy is based on The Multiplier Effect: how to ensure 1+1 = 11 in every relationship. Forget B2C or B2B; focus on H2H interaction. Zero sum solutions are passé!
Let ME (Middle East) entertain you! The Middle East has a rich cultural heritage that demands local content strategies that take into account the local culture in script and film production. Replicating Hollywood in the region is not a viable solution, as Americanizing scripts will not necessarily lead to commercial success. Instead, we should focus on economically sustainable projects that ensure longevity in the industry. Overspending on budgets has resulted in many studios declaring bankruptcy, so let's learn from history and prioritize financially viable projects that provide sustainable employment opportunities, broadens the local cultures and creates a functioning ecosystem with network effects. Independent film producers have a great opportunity to work in the Middle East, where the theatrical infrastructure is growing rapidly. The diversity of content required in some markets, due to the melting pot of cultures, makes this an exciting time for the industry. A data driven approach is essential. As always, the choreography always matters at all levels. Let's take inspiration from the region's rich cultural heritage and create content that resonates with local and global audiences and showcase to the rest of the world that the Middle East is now here to entertain the world! Hello Fellow Filmmakers! Since I receive a lot of emails asking for funding, I decided to write a few tips for beginners. I hope it helps. To attract investors for your filmmaking projects, it's crucial to establish yourself as a filmmaker and build a track record. Here's some advice: 1. **Start Small**: Begin with smaller projects that are manageable within your budget. Short films, documentaries, or web series can be excellent starting points. Completing these projects successfully will demonstrate your capabilities. 2. **Network**: Attend film festivals, industry events, and join local filmmaking groups to connect with potential investors and collaborators. Building a network within the industry can open doors to funding opportunities. 3. **Showcase Your Work**: Create a professional portfolio showcasing your previous projects. Develop a compelling showreel or demo reel that highlights your skills and style as a filmmaker. Make sure it's easily accessible online. 4. **Build an Online Presence**: Establish a strong online presence through a personal website and social media profiles. Share your filmmaking journey, behind-the-scenes content, and engage with your audience. A robust online presence can attract both fans and investors. 5. **Pitch Your Vision**: Develop a clear and persuasive pitch for your projects. Investors want to know not only about the story but also about your passion, vision, and the potential return on investment. Be prepared to present your project confidently and convincingly. 6. **Seek Grants and Competitions**: Many film grants and competitions offer funding opportunities for emerging filmmakers. Research and apply for these opportunities to secure financing and gain recognition. 7. **Collaborate**: Partner with experienced filmmakers or producers who have a proven track record. Their involvement can lend credibility to your projects and attract investors who trust their judgment. 8. **Financial Planning**: Create detailed budgets and financial plans for your projects. Investors want to see that you've thought through the financial aspects and have a plan for how their money will be used and potentially returned. 9. **Crowdfunding**: Consider using crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter or Indiegogo to raise initial funds and build a fanbase for your projects. A successful crowdfunding campaign can attract additional investors. 10. **Pitch to Film Funds**: Many regions and countries have film funds that support local filmmakers. Research if there are any such funds in your area and apply for grants or financing. Remember that building a reputation and track record takes time, so be patient and persistent. As you successfully complete projects and gain recognition in the industry, attracting investors will become more attainable. Check us out on social media.
