I thoroughly enjoyed working on this blog to celebrate Veterans Day and the launch of our U.S. Active Military, Veterans, and Allies Employee Resource Group (ERG)! The blog features the inspiring stories of four of our amazing colleagues who have served or are serving in the U.S. Active Military. They open up about their experiences and how the skills acquired during their service have guided them into a career in #cybersecurity
Today, as we reflect on #VeteransDay, we honor and remember veterans for their service—including Check Point veterans. https://lnkd.in/gQTsyXdv

As Veterans Day falls tomorrow on a Saturday, our nation observes Veterans Day on Friday. Let's pause to express our deepest gratitude to the brave men and women who have served our great nation. Your commitment to protecting our freedoms has not gone unnoticed, and we are immensely thankful for your service. In honor of Veterans Day, here are three fun facts that highlight the contributions of our veterans: 1. Did you know that veterans bring a wealth of skills and talents to the workforce? From leadership and teamwork to problem-solving and adaptability, their military experience translates seamlessly into the business world. 2. Many veterans transition into entrepreneurship after their military service. In fact, veteran-owned businesses play a significant role in the U.S. economy. 3. While their military service may come to an end, the spirit of service lives on in veterans. Many continue to positively impact their communities through volunteer work, mentorship, and leadership roles. To all the veterans out there, thank you for your service, dedication, and the invaluable contributions you make to our nation.

Today, on Veterans Day, we honor the brave men and women who have served our country. In the military, teamwork is more than just a buzzword. Teamwork that is essential to their success. It's a matter of life and death. Soldiers rely on each other to complete their missions, and they learn to work together quickly and efficiently, even under the most difficult conditions. Here are just a few of the ways that veterans demonstrate teamwork: 🔥They trust each other with their lives. In combat, soldiers know that they can count on their comrades to have their backs. This trust is built through shared experiences and rigorous training. 🔥They communicate effectively. In order to coordinate their actions and achieve their goals, soldiers must be able to communicate clearly and concisely. They also need to be able to listen and understand the needs of their teammates. 🔥They support each other. When one soldier struggles, the others step in to help. They know that everyone is stronger when they work together. Veterans bring these teamwork skills to the civilian world as well. They are often sought-after employees because they are able to build relationships, collaborate effectively, and solve problems as a team. So today, let's not only thank our veterans for their service, but also celebrate the teamwork that makes them so successful. #VeteransDay #Teamwork #ThankYouForYourService

Eldercare-Senior Care Sales Solutions Academy-Marketing, Business Development, Sales Training, Coaching and Accountability-Offering Entrepreneurial Opportunity-Veteran
Just boarded flight back to San Diego. As I entered the plane there sat an Elder Veteran. He had his hat on. I said quietly, “thank you for your service.” He quietly said back, “thank you.” The line to seat was at a stand still so I remained in front of him. He looked at me and said, “Thank you. We really do appreciate it. It wasn’t like that when we came home.” Folks, I don’t care if it feels goofy or not…please be sure to express your gratitude to our Nation’s Veterans…especially our Elder Veterans. Clearly the one today experienced Vietnam. It doesn’t have to be a big deal. Just a simple quietly spoken thank you. We owe it to them.

Writer | Editor | Workshop Leader ... Words that make a difference. Everything written by a human, always.
Veteran's Day or Veterans Day? According to the US Department of Veterans Affairs, "Veterans Day does not include an apostrophe but does include an 's' at the end of 'veterans' because it is not a day that 'belongs' to veterans, it is a day for honoring all veterans." So, the answer there is Veterans Day. How do you greet others on Veterans Day? Make your words work for you and for those you are honoring. It can be a little too easy to say "thank you for your service" and move on. Try a few more meaningful words, such as "thank you for your sacrifice" or "thank you for your valor." This is also a good time to engage in a meaningful conversation with a veteran. What is his or her story? What challenges did they face in the service and are still dealing with now? Show respect, engage with empathy, pay attention, and truly listen with intent. You will both benefit greatly. #veteransday2023 #thankyou #words #meaningfulconversations #realcommunications

Honoring Our Veterans: A Commitment Beyond Just One Day As we observe Veterans Day in the United States, it's crucial to acknowledge that a single day, or a solitary social media post, can’t do justice to the profound gratitude we owe our veterans. Their service and the sacrifices they have made are cornerstones of the freedoms and securities we enjoy today. Serving in the military, especially during times of conflict and war, demands an extraordinary level of courage, resilience, and dedication. Our veterans have faced challenges and experiences that are beyond the realm of what most civilians can comprehend. Their stories, often untold, are filled with lessons of leadership, teamwork, and perseverance under the most trying and extreme conditions. As professionals, there's so much we can learn from our veterans. Their skills in leadership, strategic thinking, and problem-solving are invaluable assets in any workplace. Their experience in diverse and challenging environments makes them adaptable and resilient - qualities that are increasingly crucial in today's dynamic business world. On this Veterans Day, I encourage everyone, especially those within my professional network, to take a moment to reflect on the immense contributions of our veterans. If you know a veteran personally, reach out to them. A simple message of appreciation can mean a lot–it's a gesture to let them know that their service is seen, valued, and respected. #nextlevelwealth #nextlevelwealthcoaching #businesscoach #executivecoach #highperformancecoach #createthelifeyouwant #veteransday #serviceandsacrifice
