EXCLUSIVE: The planned Arkham Asylum TV series is no longer moving forward at Max. As Variety exclusively reported in October 2022, Antonio Campos had come onboard to serve as writer and showrunner of the series, which was originally meant to be set within the world of Matt Reeves' “The Batman.” But according to an individual with knowledge of the situation, Campos’ version will not proceed. It is still possible, though, that a new project set within the infamous Gotham City asylum could be developed in the future, the individual noted. wp.me/pc8uak-1lEnMg
More jobs lost in 2024. 🫠
Nothing is in development at Max. They’d have a fire sale, but there’s nothing left to burn.
Seems WB is still trying to figure out how to monetize their DC properties…
Big mistake! This show had such astounding potential. So Waller and Creature Commandos gets greenlit but this gets scrapped? At least Matt Reeves' trilogy will continue to succeed.
I’ll write it Pro Bono. Just give me the credit.
That's disappointing news about the Arkham Asylum TV series. It seems plans have shifted, but there's hope for future projects set in Gotham City's infamous asylum.
