This week I had to say goodbye to people at Klar due to new challenges waiting ahead. My new position is called "soon to be a mother of another little treasure". This week I made a pause in my career and started the maternity leave. Saying "see you soon" to my colleagues was pretty hard and there are two main reasons for that: 1) I will miss Klar vibe - the cocktail of the most dedicated hard working people who know how to have fun, never-ending learning&growing process and those goosebumps we get when C level announces plans for the nearest future. 2) Dream team - I really enjoyed my work because I was surrounded with real professionals. We shared the same vision and strived for the same goals. We helped each other and shared all the knowledge we had. Every challenge we had was always met with the attitude "we will find the solution!". The upcoming 1.5-2 years will be definitely full both of challenges and wins, but in another team. Sometimes my team will not be ready to cooperate and negotiations might fail, but my opponent will have the sweetest toothless smile. We also might miss some deadlines, run out of supplies and end up with a real chaos, but we will learn together and do better another day. See you pretty soon, Klar people 💙 I will keep an eye on your journey! Keep rocking!

Jamey Hardesty, MPH and his post regarding his experience at 4A's #StratFest  got me thinking today about why—as creatives and marketing professionals—we are eternally compelled to understand what others have done before us, and what others are doing in the categories in which we work. This might be controversial (and I could be myopic), but to a large extent, I've never really given too much thought about what my clients' competitors are doing from a creative standpoint. I think it's dangerous as it typically sets the bar low (especially in the healthcare/life sciences/biomedical realm where the high bar is oh so low); and while it may begin with good intentions of seeking differentiation, I believe it ultimately leads to a bland soup of, "we need look, sound, smell, and behave similar to them" thinking. My point: Find who you are. Find who you need to be. Craft a compelling, courageous, impactful, memorable story around your truths (and make it as extraordinary as possible). Do all of this regardless of what others are doing.

Flying into SFO today has me in my feels. Last time I was here, I was working for Logitech, traveling as part of the ‘Logi Women’ initiative, an unofficial ERG at that time. On the trip, as I connected with women from across the company, I was struck by how our titles and roles may have separated us, but our life experiences, goals, aspirations, struggles, hopes, and dreams united us. Genuine connections and shared experiences are powerful assets in building a professional nextwork and, often times in believing in our own capabilities. ERGs, when done well, play pivotal roles. Often times we limit our own potential. ERGs help us break down self-imposed and systemic limitations and introduce us to people who share wisdom,similar values or who can mentor us on our professional journeys. These connections not only open doors to new possibilities but empower us to unlock our full potential. I am incredibly grateful for the experiences I’ve had and I’m also aware that not everyone has the same opportunities. Well, what a year :) Every end of cycle I take some time to reflect a bit on what has happened and try to re-align on the north start that I will be guided by next year. This month, I close my initial chapter at YAGER. Wait! No! I am not leaving #teamyager. On the contrary, this cycle has shown me one more time on how lucky I was to find these talented folks and reassured me that deciding to join this team was one of the best things that happened to me recently (special thanks to my lovely team that has embraced me since day one as one of them, Nora Neumann, Richarrie Mosca Klumpp, Denise Eberlein and Daniel Steinke). Professionally, I continue leading Talent Acquisition while venturing into other strategic People & Culture projects. Cultivating great work environments and helping people thrive is my life motivation. Personally, a challenging year, but with achievements and gratitude for an amazing partner. Gaming-wise, upgraded my setup in Berlin for a top-notch experience (my secret Santa gift for myself, hohoho). Also I wanted to thank you, my tribe, for many advices and reflections on this year.
