Toy stores are the headquarters of children’s holiday wish lists, and they’re currently undergoing a renaissance. Not only are new stores popping up across the country, but they’re embracing a more significant mission that deeply considers the power of the toys our children spend their time with. Many experts are saying that a reason the toy industry is experiencing a boom is the ability of toys to create joy for children who had a difficult period during the pandemic. MESH toys– or mental, emotional, and social health toys– teach kids “skills like how to adjust to new challenges, resolve conflict, advocate for themselves, or solve problems.” This is a wonderful opportunity for the toy industry to embrace something that benefits children in a variety of ways. Here’s a look at how several toy companies are taking their endeavors to the next level. https://lnkd.in/enHneW5n #retaildesign #experientialdesign #immersiveexperience #thinkunique #designtheexperience #wearegeneris #generiscollective

Back to School (BTS) is an evergreen shopping moment for families. While children are preparing for the new school year, they are using their influence to make sure that the right kit enters the shopping basket. A recent SuperAwesome survey showed that more than 80% of UK and US parents‘ BTS shopping is influenced by their children. Not only that, around half of all parents say their kids are also involved in where they buy from. Time and time again, we see that the purchase decision is a complex negotiation, with parents taking into account their children’s views, not just on the item but on the store itself. Kids really are in control of the purchase funnel. Uniform, shoes, water bottles and trainers top the list of UK BTS purchasing, but the lunchbox and its contents are front of mind. For US parents, clothes - especially first day outfits, sports gear and school supplies - top the lists. As the summer term progresses, now is the time to think about how your brand can be part of the family conversation when parents and children start preparing to come back in September.

Marketing Baby & Kid Products to New Parents: Safety The safety of a product is one of the primary factors parents consider when making a purchasing decision. Whether you sell food, toys, clothes, or baby care products, you must ensure that all safety-related information is displayed prominently and clearly. Parents are more likely to choose a brand that clearly communicates the safety of their products over a similar one that does not. #DTC #BabyBrands #ecommercetips #ecommerceagency #ecommerce

📌What did my $50 shopping spree at Toys R Us (way back in the 80's) teach me about personal branding? It's all about "what's inside" the box! (And yes $50 in the 1980s was a BIG Deal!!!) On a scale of 1-10 (10 being awesome) how well do you let people know "what's inside" the box? Let me know in the comments. ⬇️ ⬇️ ⬇️ Got any packaging ideas that have worked for you, I'd love to hear them too! Need help with your packaging? ⛔️DANGEROUS WATER BEADS. U.S retail takes action.⛔️ 🤫👏Exciting to witness US retailers taking proactive steps to eliminate hazardous water bead products from the market, with ETSY and Alliexpress setting the gold standard by completing removing them irrespective of the product categories they market under. Let's hope this positive trend extends to Australia, prioritising the safety of our children. 🤞🙏 #ecommercebusiness #marketplaces #toyindustry #retailindustry #ata #accc #kidsafevictoria #childprotection #consumerprotection #productsafety #compliancemanagement #riskmanagement
In a big win for child safety, Amazon, Walmart, and Target announced that they will ban the sale of water beads that are marketed to children. Etsy and AliExpress stated they will prohibit the sale of water beads entirely. Learn more in our new blog: https://lnkd.in/e9VYa7jz
