Thousands watched on News4JAX+, News4JAX.com and the News4JAX YouTube channel as a judge sentenced Tammy 'Sunny' Sytch, a former Hall of Fame WWE wrestler, to more than 17 years in prison, 8 years probation. Utilizing technology behind the scenes, this event was streamed for a live edition of "Going Ringside with The Local Station" podcast as newscasts and regularly scheduled programming aired on TV and on News4JAX+. “As host of the Going Ringside podcast we try and offer up to date news on the wrestling world as well as a nostalgic look at famous performers from the past. This live episode gave us that opportunity to cover an important story in wrestling for more than six hours in real time. This is an effort we will continue to do at Going Ringside to bring top level coverage of issues in the world of professional wrestling – both good and bad -- as they happen,” Scott Johnson said.

To succeeed as a solopreneur, you have to lead your industry. You become an industry leader through public speaking. Let's build your confidence and create your best material together!
Based on the picture below, who do you think is the most prominent and the most dominant? The answer might surprise you. The man on the right is the most respected in the history of his industry. The man in the middle looks to be in charge. He was a short-term understudy of the man on the right. What happened? How did the roles reverse? Stay tuned. This picture is from a professional wrestling podcast. On the right is Mark Calaway, also known as the Undertaker. As a teenager, I watched him bring the heavy metal goth look into the world of pro wrestling. My two greatest passions at the time, wrapped up into one character. Undertaker ran for 30 years at the top of the industry and carries more respect than anybody who has ever wrestled. In the middle is Maven Huffman. He won an MTV reality show contest and had a short run with the company as a mid-level talent. Then why is Maven holding court while the Undertaker is off in the wings? I've got two words for ya -- public speaking. Maven started a YouTube channel about life as an outsider making his way in the world of pro wrestling. His candor, humor, and perfect pitch draws the audience vicariously into the ring and the locker room. In the ring, Undertaker is the general. In the speaking world, Mark Calaway looks up to Maven. How do you represent yourself, your brand, and your industry in the public eye? Have you invested in your ability to speak? Leave a comment below. How does public speaking help you establish leadership in your industry?

I'm currently watching "Wrestlers," the documentary series that plunges you into the heart of the independent wrestling world. It's not a simple showcase of wrestling in the end; it's an intense exploration of leadership dynamics, particularly if you're familiar with the "Obnoxious Aggression" concept from Kim Scott's Radical Candor. Of course, it's brilliantly constructed - the director is Greg Whiteley (Last Chance U, Cheer), and BBC Studios Los Angeles. So don't sleep on this one. The series, set in Louisville, provides a ringside seat to the power struggles and drama behind the scenes at Ohio Valley Wrestling. One standout example of Obnoxious Aggression unfolds as we witness the new ownership's actions. Textbook examples of aggressive behavior and disregard for constructive communication become evident. It's a complicated watch from a leadership perspective, but it is a valuable lesson in what not to do. And the concept of not overestimating your value and underestimating others as a leader... holy s***. Interestingly, since the filming of this documentary, one of the owners, Craig Greenberg, was elected Mayor of Louisville. Again, it's a testament to the complexity of leadership and the importance of self-awareness and balanced communication from several angles. If you've seen the series, I'd love to hear your thoughts on the leadership lessons it brings to light... especially if you're a Louisvillian and know the players involved! #leadership #radicalcandor #wrestling #netflix #louisville

VINCE MCMAHON DOCUMENTARY : Netflix’s controversial million dollar deal. Netflix, world’s most popular OTT platform is about to release a documentary on Vince McMahon a famous personality of wrestling world. Vince was born in Pinehurst, North California. He is a chairman and a CEO of world wrestling Entertainment (WWE). He was the one who took regional wrestling to global entertainment powerhouse. This documentary on McMahon is going to take the audience into the world of wrestling. Exclusive interviews and storylines by McMahon are covered here. From a wrestling enthusiast to the normal audiences, the documentary is going to serve everyone with the addition of McMahon’s life and his career in WWE. The beginning of world wrestling Entertainment along with the allegations faced by McMahon. This documentary is going to be engaging worldwide . In the midst of the deal between Netflix and McMahon , there are certain allegations against McMahon which may harm Netflix’s reputation among the audience. McMahon is alleged of sexually assaulting one of his former employee along with paying hush money and defaulting on payment as well. Thus McMahon’s image is under scrutiny. Due to such allegations on McMahon , Netflix is facing a lot of controversies. This may be the largest investment by Netflix, having just secured a $5 billion deal for the rights to broadcast Raw and archival footage, now faces a dilemma. Now, the biggest question arises is, will Netflix continue this collaboration that sheds light on McMahon’s controversial past ? Will there be any alterations in the documentary to safeguard the reputation of Netflix? How Netflix going to accept the criticisms if any, comes out from public as it’s the responsibility of this platform to work with dignity and maintain public entertainment under limits. What’s going to be the public reaction to it? Critics will certainly question Netflix’s alignment with a company under such scrutiny, potentially risking damage to their reputation and hurting their own investment in the process. The company was earliest started by vince’s family in 1940s, which became world wide wrestling federation (WWF) in 1963. Before Vincent Kennedy McMahon(Vince McMahon) , his father Vincent James McMahon owned and operated the company. Vince McMahon is not only the head of the company but also the richest wrestler globally, with a net worth of $2.3 billion, according to Forbes. After retirement of McMahon, her daughter Stephanie, became the chairman of the company, while his son in law Paul levesque (popularly known as Triple H) assigned as a chief content officer and head of executive. The president of WWE Nick Khan was made co- chief executive. The unfolding drama poses a significant challenge to Netflix’s commitment to responsible content and the delicate balance between business and ethics.

Inclusive Entertainment Specialist | Her Campus 22 Under 22 | DEI Strategist | Pop Culture Enthusiast | DEI & PR Double Major
I was doubted as a Black girl in wrestling, but now I'm back with my own show & ready to disrupt the industry. 🔥💥 At 17, I fell in love with creating inclusive content, but I was the youngest in every wrestling content space. I built a community by interviewing stars, recording over 200+ podcasts, creating a documentary, and SO much more. Then college called, wrestling took a backseat... but the passion never left! Now the comeback is ON! My OWN wrestling x pop culture YouTube show, "The Pop Culture Powerbomb" launches soon 🎉 I'm still sometimes the youngest, but now they see I'm a changemaker and an OG. All those streams & connections… they paved the way. I've even been making guest appearances on some of my old shows, and I'm back on Twitter hyping things up! Back then, being a young Black woman in the space felt radical. Now, folks recognize the work I put in. That experience taught me: 💥 Own your niche: Don't be afraid to be the ONLY one doing what you do. The things that make you different (your passions, your experiences, your background) those are the ingredients that make your voice stand out in a crowded space. 💥 Embrace the circle back: Sometimes you hit a pause button, not a stop button. Stepping away from something you love can give you fresh eyes and a renewed sense of purpose. When you're ready to return, you'll bring that new perspective with you, making your comeback even stronger. 💥 Your perspective matters: The world needs your voice. As a young, diverse creator, you bring ideas no one else can. Inclusive entertainment is about changing the game, not just showing up. This comeback isn't just about having my own show; it's about proving that your passions and your voice will lead you where you need to be. "The Pop Culture Powerbomb" is where I get to dissect everything I love – wrestling, pop culture, and creating a more inclusive entertainment world. There’s going to be so much fun and major disruptor energy when we premiere in April 2024! Want a taste of what's to come? Check out my previous wrestling content and documentary (link in the comments below). Subscribe to my YouTube channel and hit the notification bell so you won't miss a single episode! 🎉💥

For 20 years, we've helped Consultants, Coaches and B2B Service Providers get Leads on Autopilot, Guaranteed!
I recently started watching the Netflix series Wrestling, and I thought it was kind of interesting. I don't watch pro wrestling much but the documentary isn't awful. It touches on a variety of subjects and explores the lives of numerous people. No one has done anything particularly awful as of yet, which reveals another aspect of individuals who are merely trying to get by and survive in the world. The third episode, however, tells the tale of the newer wrestlers' new leader, who aims to make them all better. guiding them and assisting them in understanding the need of mutual accountability. The narrative is energizing in a world when it occasionally seems like we aren't expected to hold each other accountable. Accountability doesn't imply being patronizing; it just means making sure everyone is doing their part and that you are, too. Leave your comments below on what you have done. Marketing Manager | Brand Building | SEO | Email Marketing | Content Creator | Social Media | Tech & SaaS Sales Recruitment
A lot of my recent marketing campaign success stories have been mainstream ones that everyone might have heard of. But here's a recent, obscure one that's near and dear to my heart. Spoiler alert: it's wrestling related. Two months ago, I had no idea who Joe Hendry was, and as a die-hard wrestling fan (no, I will not elaborate), that was a big deal. But now, I couldn't get his theme song out of my head if I tried. From being virtually unknown in mainstream wrestling to having his appearance on NXT become WWE's most-watched video on X with over 18 million views, Joe Hendry is now one of wrestling's most talked about stars. When I tell you this man is everywhere wrestling is, I am not joking. Instagram, X, Reddit, Tumblr - if you can post on it, he's on it. And the fans aren't the only ones noticing. His strategy? Consistent exposure and engagement. Some of these include buying a billboard outside a sold-out wrestling event to show his face for ten seconds every minute, posting memes, and beating Taylor Swift and Sabrina Carpenter on the UK iTunes charts. No, really, his theme song hit the #1 spot in early May for a week. Below is a screenshot from an article from BBC on the occasion. Here is a link to the article: https://lnkd.in/g_ycusyP but more importantly, here is a link to his theme song: https://lnkd.in/gwj43aVf Needless to say, I do believe in Joe Hendry and I think his marketing team deserves a raise. #Marketing #Wrestling #JoeHendry
