I left with great insights and inspiration, as well as practical tips from the panel. When I asked, "What would be your top practical tip for getting the board, who are focused on the bottom line, to buy into a new sustainability initiative when the impact is yet unknown?" the responses were enlightening: 1. Test the Initiative in Smaller Pieces: Prove the bigger concept through smaller, manageable projects. Jennifer Berry 2. Share Success and Failure Stories: Highlight other businesses' journeys to show the impact of taking action (or not). Vicki Joshi 3. Be Patient and Trust in Repetition: Persistence is key – keep reinforcing the message. Also Vicki 4.
