Last week, I had the privilege of participating in a thought-provoking marketing panel at this year’s Fast Casual Executive Summit alongside some of the industry's brightest minds – Alessandro Biggi (Avocaderia), Taylor Fischer (FAT Brands) and Jessica Serrano (DIG). Our discussion was a deep dive into the ways we’re navigating the ever-evolving landscape of franchise marketing. I believe there are three phases of marketing for a franchise brand and every brand makes this journey: 1. Guerilla – Every franchisee markets their location themselves. Marketing is focused in a 3-5 mile trade area and franchisees become the mayor of their neighborhood! 2. Co-Op – Franchisees band together and create efficiency in numbers. Marketing is a group effort where local marketing dollars are scaled for greater efficiency and impact. 3. Brand – This is the go big or go home phase! Marketing happens at the national level with franchisees combining marketing contributions to drive brand awareness and transactions to all locations. What phase is your brand in?
