While COVID is no longer the headlining media, it is still a key focus at Connecticut Children's. Dr. Juan Carlos Salazar and researchers from Connecticut Children’s, the FDA, and the Connecticut Children’s Covid Collaborative recently published important findings from a project funded by the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute Of Child Health & Human Development of the National Institutes of Health under Award Number R33 HD1056. The article in Vaccines MDPI investigated the change in immunity over time in children with COVID vs Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in Children (MIS-C), and found that immunity from natural infection is short-lived, therefore vaccines are important to induce longer-term immunity. Check out the full publication below! The Connecticut Children’s Covid Collaborative includes members from the New York State Department of Health, the University of Hawaii at Manoa, UConn Health - Department of Pediatrics, University of Connecticut, The Jackson Laboratory and New York University. https://lnkd.in/dwnZkDmA #Pediatric #Research #COVID #MIS-C #pediatricimmunity #ConnecticutChildrens #immunity
