At the Global Nonprofit Leaders Summit, Tim Howe, MPA MAS from Spectrum Designs Foundation shared how they are using AI to support their employees with neurodiversity. As an apparel shop that provides meaningful employment for people on the Autism Spectrum, AI-powered communication tools are transforming how they connect their neurodivergent and neurotypical employees to information with the context that is most helpful to them. In Tim's words: 💡 "My hope for the future of AI is that it creates the inclusive world that we all talk about and strive for. And what I mean by that, being so embedded in the disability and neurodiversity community, is the ability to make tools that can speak in the way people learn, teach in the way people learn, and speak in the way people can understand is, is so unbelievably important and vital to growing as a society. It will give us the opportunity to harness the brain power, the thinking capacity, and the incredible, incredible talents of disabled Americans and people with disabilities worldwide." 💡 ➡ Be a part of the conversation at next year's Global Nonprofit Leaders Summit! We are grateful that Luis Mendoza from Fundación Paso del Norte shared his insights into his organization and its innovations at the Global Nonprofit Leaders Summit. His empathy and impact shine in this interview. "When you think about the nonprofit sector, you have to consider that we are ...looking to take care of people that might go unseen by other sectors - private sector, government, other institutions. So we are trying to reach out and take care of people that might go unseen. When you are doing something to expand what you're doing to create something new, don't forget about those communities that might not speak your language, that might not know what you know, that might not fit the kind of user that you are used to." Watch the video to learn how Luis and his organization are working to continuously grow and innovate, empower people, and scale their impact to other nonprofits.
